Chennai: An international Hindi conference was held at Hindi Department of Stella Maris College in association with the Hindi-Kashmir Sangam on December 6. Governor of Tripura Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki and Governor of West Bengal Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi were the guests of honour at the Sammelan. Writers from different parts of the country, who participated in the conference, were felicitated for their contribution in this field. Professors and researchers presented research papers on the topic of ‘Contribution of non-Hindi speakers towards the language’. The students presented papers on ‘Hindi and Employment Opportunities’.

Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi said: “Translation is one of the very important aspects of any language. It helps the people of a region to know about the culture, traditions and rituals of the other region.”
Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki said such conferences are necessary to spread the prominence of a language and its role in enriching history. Prof V Jayalakshmi said such topics should be discussed more often in order to unite the whole nation as one family.
