Three-day RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting decides to focus on village development and accelerate work on strengthening family institution
Bhopal: RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) meeting from October 12 to 14 stressed the need to focus on village development activities through the Shakhas. “There is a big challenge of social harmony in villages. Despite the availability of communication means, there is lack of accurate and useful information there. An effort should be made to bring the right
information and the right perspective in every village,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi, while briefing the media persons on the last day of the meeting. Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya was also present.
The Sarkaryavah informed that ABKM has designed an action plan for Gram Vikas and Kutumba Prabodhan. “For the last few years, the farmers are confronting with many questions and the Sangh feels that we should work towards making them self-reliant. Understanding the questions of farmers, the Government should formulate a favourable policy. The ABKM also discussed the issues of agriculture. The Sangh will endeavour that farmers return to organic farming. We have made some plans in this direction,” he said stressing that farming should become economically viable.
Shri Joshi also informed that the Sangh has taken up the task of strengthening the family institution through Kutumba Prabodhan activities. Family plays an important role in shaping a person. If the children are imparted with good sanskars and values, their development is fine. The swayamsevaks are working towards creating socially-aware families. About 20 lakh families are connected with the Sangh through different activities.
On the entry of Rohingyas in India, the RSS Sarkaryavah said the behaviour of those who have entered India shows that they have not come here merely to seek shelter. The Government should formulate a policy to grant them shelter, fix the place and duration of their stay and make full proof arrangements for their return. He said the people who are supporting Rohingyas also need to understand their background.
On October 12, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale said there was an increase of about 550 Shakhas compared to the last year. He said at present there are more than 34,000 daily Shakhas and over 15,000 weekly Milans. The Sangh work is going on at 49,493 places through daily Shakhas and weekly Milans. There is considerable participation of youth in the nation building activities. The number of youth joining the RSS has increased by 48 per cent in 2016 and 52 per cent in 2017 compared to that of 2015. He pointed out that with the efforts of swayamsevaks there is significant change in about 450 villages.
About the attacks on Sangh workers he said the number of such brutal attacks in Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab and Karnataka has increased. “The attacks demonstrate the ideological defeat of the attackers,” he said. On October 12, an exhibition, Dharohar, focusing on the life philosophy of some great personalities including Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Sister Nivedita, Guru Gobind Singh, Dr. Hedgewar, etc was inaugurated by Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni.
Meerut: Vidya Bharati, an all-India educational body running more than 30,000 schools, colleges and sanskar kendras in the country, organised its 30th all-India sports meet from October 12 to 16. Boys and girls
partook in three categories—under-14, under-17 and under-19. Uttar Pradesh emerged as the over-all champion. Aditya Prakash of Bihar and Yameshwari Nishad of Madhya Pradesh were declared as the best sportsperson in the boys and girls category respectively. Both won three gold medals in three separate under-17 events.
Vidya Bharati's marathon sports jamboree got off to a colourful start at Kailash Prakash Stadium on 12 October in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dr Dinesh Sharma and State’s Sports Minister Chetan Chauhan. Boys and girls from all parts of the country took out a march past in 11 groups
representing 11 kshetras. Total number of participants were 699.
There were 93 sports events in all. The concluding session, held on October 16, was addressed by Union Minister of State for HRD Dr Satya Pal Singh who exhorted the students to inculcate sportsman spirit to tide over adversities in life. There were cultural programmes every evening on the sidelines of the main sports events. Hari Om Pawar, the national poet was also there to fill all with patriotic fervour by his recitation. Suresh Rana and Atul Garg, both Ministers of State of UP also graced the occasions.
Shri Ram Aravarkar, joint organising secretary of the Vidya Bharati pointed out that seven students of Vidya Bharati were selected by the Government to take part in the World Junior Athletics Meet in Bangkok. Avinash Yadav in javelin throw and Deepak Yadav in pole vault won bronze medals there. Vidya Bharati has been organising the national games since 1988. The School Games Federation of India (SGFI) has recognised Vidya Bharati as a State unit (a province) in 2007 to participate in its sports fixtures. In 2016, Vidya Bharati students won 24 gold medals in national sports
competitions of SGFI.

Sardarshahar: Sardarshahar (Rajasthan) unit of Durga Vahini took out a highly impressive pathsanchalan in the city on September 28. The pathsanchalan began from Adarsh Vidya Mandir and passing through Ganesh Mandir, main market and bus stand concluded at Luniya Nohare where a Nari Shakti Mahasangam was organised. The Mahasangam was addressed by joint secretary of the VHP Shri Anand Goel, regional convener of Durga Vahini Abhilasha Yadav, Rajasthan convener Ratna Sharma and many others.
Lucknow: Books on the life and works of the RSS Sarsanghachalaks, Dr Hedgewar, Shri Guruji, Balasaheb Deoras, Shri Rajju Bhaiya and Shri KS Sudarshan—were released on October 10 by BJP president Shri Amit Shah. The books have been published by Prabhat Prakashan, New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Shri Ram Naik and Vice Chancellor of Pacific University, Udaipur, Prof Bhagwati Prakash Sharma were also present. Shri Ram Naik said he enjoyed close association with all the five Sanghachalaks and imbibed many samskars from them. “I came in contact of Dr Hedgewar when I was six,” he said. Yogi Adityanath said the books would connect the society with the past. Shri Amit Shah said all the five personalities mentioned in the books lived for the society and the nation and not for the individual needs.
Ludhiana: A senior RSS worker, Ravindra Gosai, was shot dead by unidentified persons on October 17 at Shivpuri area of the city. He was 58 and was Mukhya Shikshak of the Shakha held in Shivpuri area. He was shot dead outside his home when he was returning home after the Shakha. RSS Punjab Prant Sanghachalak Sardar Brijbhushan Singh Bedi condemned the killing of Gosai and demanded the Government of Punjab to book the attackers and ensure strict punishment to them. This is not the first time that an RSS worker has been targeted. In February 2016, another Sangh worker, Naresh Kumar, was attacked, however, he escaped unscathed. Punjab government has handed over the case to National Investigation Agency (NIA). The CCTV footage from the area showed that the two men had been roaming in the area since morning. The assailants were wearing turbans and were masked.
BJP and RSS workers held a protest outside the Ludhiana CP office against the killing.
On October 21, another swayamsevak was killed in Ghazipur District of Uttar Pradesh. Three bike-borne assailants attacked Rajesh Mishra, 40, and his brother who tried to save him. They were rushed to the district hospital, where Rajesh was declared brought dead.
Bengaluru: A massive rally was organised at Shivanna Chetty Garden on October 16 by the volunteers of the Citizens for Democracy condemning the killing of RSS worker Rudresh on the same day last year. Rudresh was hacked to death in the wee hours when he was returning from RSS Vijayadashami pathsanchalan on October 16, 2016. The gathering remembered Rudresh and raised the demand to ban radical outfits like PFI, SDPI and also allow the police to function without bias. VHP leader Shri Gopal said the organisation that Rudresh represented, the RSS, is always pro-Dharma and the nation. MLA Shri Vijayakumar cine actress Tara, family members of Rudresh were present during the protest.
