New Delhi: The life should be meaningful than successful alone. Only then the knowledge that a human being acquires becomes meaningful. Vidya Bharati is doing excellent job in this regard,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while laying the foundation stone for the new building of Samarth Shiksha Samiti school at Bhalaswa on May 23. Samarth Shiksha Samiti is associated with the Vidya Bharati.
Shri Bhagwat said the Vidya Bharati has taken up a benevolent work in its hand through which it wants to build a generation of youth committed to Bharatiya values of life and is steeped into patriotism that is capable to fight contemporary problems. It is committed to upliftment the deprived people by making them free of exploitation and injustice.
He said the purpose of education is not only to earn livelihood. Its purpose is to become capable of giving something back to the society in which we live. It is necessary to ignite these feelings to make education meaningful. He said knowledge makes a human educated. It empowers children to maintain self-esteem. Knowledge cannot be attained by just attending schools, it also requires sacrifice and devotion by guardians and the family.
“Vidya Bharati is successfully trying to accomplish these jobs. In fact, Vidya Bharati is a family comprising guardians, teachers and students. Lakhs of Vidya Bharati volunteers have dedicated themselves to provide the type of education that is required to be given to students,” Shri Bhagwat said. Pilot Project of Organic Farming by Kisan Sangh
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh has started a pilot project to promote organic farming on large scale. The pilot project has been started in seven districts of the State. The farmers sell their organic products through Kisan Sangh Cooperative Society retail outlets. The project has proved very helpful in providing employment opportunities for the village youth.
Shri Kumar Swamy, State organising secretary of the Kisan Sangh said the importance of organic farming is time tested and it is the best way to get the nation rid of the critical diseases on which the country spends huge budget. He said the State unit of Kisan Sangh has started a campaign “Aarogya Andhra Pradesh” with the mission to make the State healthy. Organic farming is free from any chemical fertilizer and pesticide. Awareness and training programmes for farmers have been started to encourage them to adopt it.
“The main problem with the farmers in organic farming is that lack of platform to sell their produce. The Kisan Sangh has responded by forming a “Farmers’ Cooperative Society” through which the farmers can sell their produce without any middlemen. In Vijayawada, the society runs four shops and each shop has a daily sale of 20K to 30K,” Shri Swamy said.
Swadeshi is a Medium to Purify Soul
New Delhi: RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya said Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) is not merely an organisation, but a nationwide campaign to motivate people to use indigenous goods in daily life. He was addressing the Manch workers during a workshop of Prachar Vibhag. He said the promotion to swadeshi and small and cottage industries would lead to prosperity of the nation. Dr Vaidya said the Sangh work is expanding and the swayamsevaks are promoting the use of swadeshi goods.
Akhil Bharatiya Sangathak of SJM Shri Kashmirilal described swadeshi as the thinking to purify soul. He said it is due to the dependence on MNC products that the grip of
foreign countries like China, US, etc is increasing day by day. He said China has suffered loss of Rs 10,000 crore due to the campaign by SJM against Chinese products. Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri Narendra Kumar also addressed the workers. SJM workers from Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Rajasthan participated in the camp.
SJM for Dumping Globalisation
Guwahati: The National Council of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) that met from May 20 to 21 demanded comprehensive review of
present and proposed international trade agreements, and if at all they are required, make them work in our favour. In a resolution passed at the meeting, the Manch demanded the government to take note of the winds of deglobalisation sweeping the world and frame its economic development model accordingly.
“Favourable demography, though started waning, and huge
domestic demand provides an opportunity and efforts must be made in the direction of taking advantage of it ourselves without leaving much scope for MNCs. Millions of jobs are to be created and the SJM demands to prioritise these factors in the approach of government,” the resolution said.
The Manch appreciated the swadeshi spirit of the government through moves like efforts towards preferential treatment for indigenous goods in government procurement. The focus must shift from augmenting FDI to promote and encourage domestic investment, the resolution added.
In another resolution, the Manch described China as the biggest threat to Indian economy, employment, national security and integrity. In the last 19 years since 1996-97, Indian imports from China have increased 78 times and today they are equivalent to nearly 22 per cent of the domestic manufacturing.
The SJM demanded the government to restrict import of sub standard products from China and no new trade agreement should be made with China including Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). There is also need to prohibit Chinese investment in Indian companies and Chinese companies should be debarred from filing tenders for contracts.
SJM appeals PM on GM mustard issue
New Delhi: Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) on May 23 appealed to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi not to take any step in hurry on the issue of “un-scientific, toxic and anti-
biodiversity GM mustard”, as the matter is directly connected to the health of the
countrymen. “Truth is being shielded in this matter and government is being misguided about the safety, yield and IPR (due to patented genes). Swadeshi Jagran Manch sincerely appeals to you to intervene in the matter and ensure that no permission is given to grow GM mustard,” SJM said in a letter to the PM.
The SJM also expressed its deep anguish over the recommendation made by Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC) for approval for GM Mustard as safe and nutrient for consumption, supposedly developed by controversial Delhi University researcher, Professor Deepak Pental. It said that undue haste is being shown by the GEAC in giving permission to so-called ‘Swadeshi GM Mustard’ with the
presumption that the same would increase yield and reduce country’s edible oil import bill. “We would like to emphatically state that, this
presumption is based on manipulated data, false conclusions and lobbying by vested interests,” the SJM said in the letter.
