Biomedical Engineering

Medical/Pharmaceutical/Veterinary

The Supreme Court’s historic decision last year to hold a centralised entrance exam for admission to MBBS/BDS courses has brought about a major uproar in the medical education of the country. Only centralised institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry are allowed to conduct their own entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes.
Veterinary Science/Medicine is still not a very popular choice among students. The B.V.Sc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) is a 5 year programme. In India, doctors in private and corporate hospitals get higher salary packages than doctors working in government hospitals.
The average pay band for freshers after completing MBBS degree and internship is between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. The pay scale for junior doctors in private hospitals is Rs 25,000. Doctors currently working in remote areas have the opportunity to get better packages. MBBS graduates working on contractual basis is Rs 12,000 to Rs 30,000.

The average salary package for Financial Analyst ranges from 2.5 lakh to 7.2 lakh per annum while the salary package for Marketing Executive ranges from Rs 1,20,000 to Rs 4,80,000 per annum. Commerce

Law is another very popular choice for students who have opted for Humanities and Commerce stream at the 10+2 level. Law aspirants can go for BA LLB and LLB conferred by various law Universities in India. The salary package for Lawyers as in the case of Doctors also varies on the skills, specialisation, years of experience and type of organisation. Lawyers are recruited in both corporate, NGO, LPO (Legal Process Outsourcing) or in a NGO as an attorney or solicitor ranges between Rs 12,000 to Rs 16,000 per month.
