Chennai: It was a ‘very happy’ New Year for Chennites this year. Walking on the busy roads and blessing families with warm words, the senior saints from various part of Tamil Nadu spent Tamil New Year day with the common people of Chennai.
In an organised manner through Sewa Bharati, about 40 saints visited 90 places of the city. Reception from cross sections of the society was overwhelming in the form of conducting aarti, doing pada puja, pushpanjali, etc. The saints visited each and every house, lit lamp, heard their grievances and blessed the family members. Not only the Hindus, other communities and well-wishers too welcomed the saints. Two-hour
programme got extended to more hours due to the endearing enthusiasm from locals. The enriching experience made the saints spend more time with the locals. They did not hesitate to climb floors in housing board localities to meet the families. The day was filled with more intimate emotional connection. The people were happy that such divine persons visited their house and the saints realised that this was a much better way of meeting the people. Senior RSS functionaries including Shri Sethumadhavan, Shri Vanniyarajan, Shri Padmakumar, Shri PM Ravikumar, Shri Ramarajasekar, Shri Muruganandam, Shri Durai Shankar and Shri Viswanathan also accompanied the saints.
Sangh Shiksha Vargas in Tamil Nadu begin
Chennai: RSS annual first year Sangh Shiksha Varga in Dakshin Tamil Nadu began at PSN Engineering College with 431 shikarthis.
Sah Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ramakrishnan, Varg Adhikari Dr D Rajasekar, Shri Kumaragurubara Swamigal Arts College Principal Shri Vaikuntam, Varg Karyavah Shri D Deivaprakash, PSN College Principal Shri T Raghu, Prant Pracharak Shri Senthilkumar, Sah Prant Prachrak Shri K Arumugam and Sah Prant Karyavah Shri Bhaveedaran participated in the inaugural session.
Sangh Shiksha Varga of Uttar Tamil Nadu began at Kamaraj Matric High School, Namakkal. School Correspondent Shri Nallathambi along with his wife Smt Savithri Ammal lit the lamp and inaugurated the 20-day camp. Reception Committee Members of the camp were present and performed Bharatmata puja. Inaugural session was presided over by Reception Committee President Dr Kuzhanthaivelu. Camp is being guided by Dr Rajan, Erode College as Varga Adhikari and Shri Prakash, Kanchipuram as Varga Karyavah.
Amma honoured with ‘Hindu Ratna’ Award
Ernakulam: Mata Amritanandamayi Devi was felicitated with ‘Hindu Ratna’ award at the 6th anniversary of Hindu Help Line (HHL) on April 23. Launching ‘Ek Mutthi Anaaj’ campaign on the occasion, VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia said no Hindu in Kerala should be hungry. The HHL was started in 2011 to help the Hindus in emergencies.
“Amma’s social service encompasses not only India, but all over the world. From health care to disaster relief and from education to women empowerment, she is everywhere with her mysterious spiritual smile that relieves pain and agony of billions of people all the time. HHL is honoured to be able to confer Hindu Ratna on her,” Dr Togadia said. He said ‘Ek Mutthi Anaaj’ campaign is working well in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi and many other states. The target in Kerala is to collect foodgrains from one lakh kind hearted families and donate to the needy with respect. The HHL does not make them stand in the queue but goes to their homes and donates the food grains touching their feet. Swamy Shivaswaroopananda, national president of HHL Shri Ranjeet Natu, Shri M K Gopinathan, Dr Mallika, Dr Ashok Sharda, Dr Pankaj Tuli, VHP national secretary Shri Arvind Brahmbhatt and HHL Kerala incharge Shri Pratheesh Vishwanath were also present.
Summer camp of Balagokulam
Hyderabad: Seven-day summer camp of Balagokulam, a unique initiative to impart value-based education to children, concluded on April 23 at RV Avaneendra Apartments, Miyapur with pada puja of parents. The camp began with 43 children and concluded with 65 children. The concluding ceremony was attended by around 75 children and more than 80 parents.
As part of the camp, several items of arts and crafts, including “Best out of the Waste” were prepared by the participants and the same were displayed during the concluding ceremony. Children recited shlokas of Lingashtakam, Eka Sloki Bhagavatam and performed several Yogasanas, which they learnt during the camp.
In addition, children composed dances by themselves for the song “Bharata Desham Mana Janma Pradesham” (Bharat is my motherland) and performed them. They also composed a skit comparing the Indian and Western culture and stressed the need to adopt Indian culture. During the camp, children participated actively in the interactive sessions, group discussions and presented their views on topics like behaviour speaks first, temples, factors leading to success and failure.
Balagokulam Mahanagar Pramukh Shri Vikrant Shah and Mahanagar Sah Pramukh Shri Lakshman Rao were also present at the concluding ceremony. Shri Lakshman Rao said the parents should ask their children what they learnt in Balagokulam and they should come and watch what is happening in Balagokulam once in a while. The camp ended with pada puja of parents and grandparents by the children while chanting Matru Devo Bhavah and Pitru Devo Bhavah.
Guru Gobind Singh has global significance
Haridwar: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev stressed the need to spread the teaching of Guru Gobind Singh across the world. Speaking at a function organised at Patanjali Yogapeeth on April 21 to celebrate the 350th Prakash Parva of Guru Gobind Singh, Baba Ramdev said the life of the warrior saint exhorts one to make sacrifices for the protection of dharma, culture and the nation. He said his yogapeeth would not only set up a Guru Gobind Singh Chair in his University but would speak his message across the world. Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University Acharya Balkrishna also spoke on the occasion.
RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal said Guru Gobind Singh infused the sense of warrior among the countrymen by forming the Khalsa. Apart from being a saint he was also an undefeated warrior. It is need of the hour that his teachings should be spread all over the world. Rashtriya Sikh Sangat general secretary organisation Shri Avinash Jaisawal described Guru Gobind Singh as the eternal spiritual, national and cultural energy of Bharat. He said no power on the earth can harm India until it follows the footsteps of Guru Gobind Singh.
Defeat the ill designs of Monsanto: SJM
New Delhi: Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) urged the central Government to thwart any attempt on the part of Monsanto to subvert the Indian laws and defeat the ill designs of Monsanto, which has a history of looting and exploiting the Indian farmers. Monsanto is trying to bypass the Indian regulations and subvert the national laws to carry out its illegal activities in the country. In multiple courts it is challenging India’s Competition Commission, Agricultural Ministries Seed Price control order, and Article 3j of the Indian patent laws, which exclude plants and animal, including seeds, from patentability.
Most of the 3,10,000 farmers’ suicides in India since 1995 when WTO came into force are concentrated in the cotton belt. And 95 per cent cotton is now controlled by Monsanto. Monsanto is attempting to undermine India’s laws and national sovereignty by subverting Article 3j, which amounts to a subversion of our sovereignty and farmers’ rights to save, exchange, improve and sell seeds. An attack on 3j is an attack on farmers’ lives and the country’s independence, economic freedom and democracy, the SJM said in a statement issued on April 25. “India is not Canada or USA. In defending and upholding Article 3 j of our patent laws, lies the true test of our freedom and sovereignty. Article 3j stands as a symbol of intellectual and economic inclusion, guaranteed by our Constitution, and must be upheld in the face of the Monsanto”s attempts at exclusion and monopoly which our laws and our civilisation disallow.
Bailable warrant against Bhuria in RSS defamation case
Bhopal: A bailable warrant was issued by a court in Guna District on April 24 against former Union Minister and present Congress MP from Ratlam-Jhabua Lok Sabha constituency, Kantilal Bhuria, for making objectionable remarks against the RSS in August 2013. Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court issued the warrant. According to petitioner Manoj Srivastava, the Magistrate Shri KK Mishra ordered Guna SP to execute the warrant and ensure that the Congress leader appears before the Court on June 24, 2017.
In August 2013, while he was MPCC president, Bhuria had reportedly said in Bhopal that RSS activists run away with beautiful Vanvasi girls from every village they set foot in. “They enter the house on the pretext of having meals, but keep an eye on our girls,” Bhuria had reportedly said at a meeting in Bhopal. He had also listed several instances of rape and molestation allegedly involving the Sangh workers. Petitioner Manoj Srivastava said it amounted to defamation of every RSS worker owing to which he filed a defamation case against Bhuria in August 2013. In October 2013, the Court summoned Bhuria, but despite several summons in repeated hearings, he failed to honour the court summons, due to which the Magistrate issued warrant.
