RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat presented Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards on April 24. Those who were honoured on the occasion included renowned cricketer Kapil Dev, film stars Aamir Khan and Vyjayanthimala Bali. Kapil Dev was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cricket while Aamir Khan was felicitated for his film ‘Dangal’.
Shri Bhagwat said the award winners are source of inspiration and their good work in their respective fields would help in nation building. “I pay my respect to the galaxy of winners who have achieved a respectable niche in the society through their talent. I have come to this function to know the works of the winners. Talent also needs sadhana and while doing the sadhana or working in a particular field one should not expect publicity, honour and awards. We do sadhana in the hope that the outcome would increase the honour of our society and the nation,” he said. The Sarsanghachalak further said that Kishore Deshpande of Savali Sanstha started work for upliftment of the deprived people on his own and not in the greed of any Award. He was not told to do this work by anyone, he did it following his consciousness. What Kapil Dev and others have said is the same consciousness,” Shri Bhagwat added.
Speaking on the occasion Lata Mangeshkar said coming of Sarsarsanghachalak in the funciton is a blessing for her. “I welcome him. I also express my sincere thanks to all the participants. I rememebr that my father the late Dinanath Mangeshkar was also a Sangh swayamsevak,” she said.
