The location was Mangalore, occasion was a meeting on ‘Communal Harmony’ and one of the main speakers was the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who faced unprecedented opposition by the activists of nationalist organisations there. The obvious outcome, instead of talking on his ideas on ‘harmony’, he preferred to attack Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and that also by quoting Organiser. While he is facing protests all over the nation for ‘murder politics’, of which Pinarayi’s own district Kannur is the epicentre, why did he choose to speak on the issue of ‘India’ and ‘Hindustan’ as the testimony of ‘secular’
communal harmony? Perhaps, he did not have answers to many questions raised by the protesters on mindless killings of workers affiliated to all Opposition parties, especially associated with RSS-BJP, under his regime.
When Pinarayi Vijayan took over as the Chief Minister, he tried to project himself as a different man with
‘development agenda’. His reputation from Kannur days, being a ruthless Communist, was haunting him. Unfortunately, in the last nine months or so of his regime a series of political murders or violence continues all over the State. Forgetting not just his vouched political
opponents, namely the RSS/BJP workers, but also Opposition activists across party lines including NSUI/Congress and Muslim League, individuals from all sections of society, especially Dalits, women and
children, nobody is spared by the Communist workers for opposing their ‘idea of democracy’. In fact, the CPM’s murder politics is now stretched outside the Kannur region to terrorise opponents.
If that was not enough, P Vijayan government took the decision to commute the sentences of 1,850 prisoners lodged in various jails in the State. Fortunately, with the judicious intervention by the Kerala Governor, it was put on hold. On the one hand, when Kerala is emerging as a crime and rape capital of the country, why Kerala Government preferred to stand for the convicted criminals is the pertinent question. The only logical answer can be that the most of them are the ‘party’ cadres.
The allegations of revenge levelled by T P Senkumar, who was removed from the State DGP”s post by the LDF Government, are far more
dangerous. In a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed before the Supreme Court on February 26, 2017 against his removal, Senkumar alleged that action had been taken against him based on untested and unverified facts regarding
investigations into the Jisha murder case and the Puttingal fire tragedy. The real reason, as indicated by him, is the hint given by him against CPM leaders in the Shukkoor murder case and the T P Chandrashekaran murder case; a clear sign of manipulating the police machinery with political agenda.
All variants of Communism ranging from Marxists to Maoists essentially believe in the violent revolution is a known fact. The darling of all young Red terrorists Che Guevara once confessed to his father, “I”d like to confess, papa, at that moment I discovered that I really like killing”, Pinarayi and most of his admirers in DYFI are followers of the same. Anti-national credentials of Communists are proven time and again. Communist cadres are deserting the party. The so-called Kerala Model of development is now falling flat with the forced
migration for employment, thanks to the shutting down of industries affected by the Communist trade-unionism. All efforts by the RSS to stop this violence have been
back-stabbed by another attack on nationalist people. The cocoons of ‘party villages’ are opening up from the Communist dictatorship. So instead of giving sermons on ‘secularism’ and ‘harmony’ going in other States, the Kerala Chief Minister should focus on restoring peace and governance in his own State. Whole nation can debate on ‘Freedom of Expression’, but first ensure ‘Right to Life’ in Kerala is the message from all over the country to
