New Delhi: “There is a need to re-establish Indian culture and traditions to eradicate untouchability and differences prevailing in the society. Only then Bharat will regain her lost identity. For it there is a need to shun the Euro centric mindset and stand on a strong intellectual and ideological base,” said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale while releasing two books authored by senior journalist Dr Suryakant Bali in New Delhi on February 22. The books have been published by Prabhat Prakashan, New Delhi.
Union HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar said India needs to look at the things with Indian vision only. He informed that his ministry is going to introduce some chapters in the textbooks from 8th to 12th standard on rich traditions and practices of India so that the new generation has glorious feeling about the country’s past.  Noted filmmaker Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi said the major weakness with the country has been that history has not been written in sequence. Dr Avanijesh Awasthi and Dr Suryakant Bali also spoke.   

Kalasadhak  Baba Yogendra felicitated

Jaipur: Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad felicitated veteran Kalasadhak Shri Yogendraji for his outstanding
contribution to the field of art and literature at a function on February 19. Four other literary persons including Dr Kamna Singh, Dr Uday Pratap Singh, Dr Smt Krishna Srivastva and Dr Lakshmi Shivhare were also felicitated. RSS Kshetra Pracharak Shri Durgadas and Vice Chancellor of Kota University Dr PR Dashora were also present.   

Sahitya Prasar Divas by RSS Delhi Prant

New Delhi: In order to develop reading habits among Delhiites and popularise healthy literature, RSS Delhi Prant observed February 19 as ‘Sahitya Prasar Divas’. Around 5,000 swayamsevaks facilitated access to 32,000 copies of various books at around 1,000 spots in various parts of Delhi as part of the initiative. The books were available for sale at affordable prices. A number of book stalls were put up at and around various educational institutions and public places.
The swayamsevaks also carried a door to door contact drive at many places to introduce the people to the high quality literature. Some of the titles of books made available under the initiative included RSS-Ek Parichay, Ramayana for Students, Mahabharata for Students, Dr Ambedkar, Guru Gobind Singh, Parivar Prabodhan, etc.   

Keertan Darbar at Mumbai Rajbhavan

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Shri C Vidyasagar Rao on February 20 organised a Keertan Darbar at the Rajbhavan in connection with the 350th birth anniversary celebration of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj.
Shri Rao urged the countrymen to imbibe the teachings of Guruji and
follow them in practical life. Former President of India Smt Pratibha Patil, Sikh Sangat general secretary (organisation) Shri Avinash Jaiswal , Sikh Sangat general secretary Dr Avatar Singh Shastry and many other distinguished people were also present on the occasion.              

Blood donation camp on birth anniversary of Shri Guruji

Jaipur: Sewayaam Project run by Bharatiya Abhutthan Samiti organised a blood donation camp at Bharati Bhavan on February 22 to celebrate 111th birth anniversary of second RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Guruji. The camp was organised with the help of Agrasen Blood Bank. Many swayamsevaks voluntarily donated blood.   

Rambhau Haldekar is no more

Hyderabad: Senior Sangh Pracharak Rambhau Haldekar passed away on February 23 at Keshav Nilayam Karyalaya. He was 87. Born on  February 5, 1930 at Halda Village of Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra Haldekarji joined the RSS while studying B.Sc in Hyderabad. Later, he became a Pracharak in 1954. Between 1959 and 1962, he worked as Pracharak of Hyderabad along with districts
of Palamoor, Medak, Nizamabad and Hyderabad. In 1963, he took up the responsibility as Vibhag Pracharak of Warangal. He served as Sah Prant Pracharak of Andhra Pradesh from 1980 to 1989. In 1989, he took up responsibility of Prant Pracharak of Andhra Pradesh. From 1991, he served as Kshetra Pracharak of Dakshin Poorva Kshetra which included united Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.   

Tribute to MC Jayadev

Bengaluru: Senior Sangh Pracharak MC Jayadev passed away at Sagar Hospitals on February 20. He was 85. He was suffering from old age illness for some time. Before the funeral procession, thousands of swayamsevaks and people from various walks of life paid tribute to the departed soul at Keshavkrupa, the Sangh Karyalaya. Prominent among them were Karnataka Governor VR Vala, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Union Ministers Anant Kumar and DV Sadananda Gowda, RSS Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri V Nagaraj, Pujya Madara Chennayya Swamiji, Beli Matha Swamiji, Swamijis from various Maths, former Chief Minister BS Yedyurappa, former Governor Justice (Retd) Rama Jois, etc.
The last rites were performed at the ancestral home of Jayadevji in Mysuru on February 21. Born in Mysuru on February 18, 1932 Mysuru Channabasappa Jayadev completed graduation in Commerce. In Bengaluru, he joined Hindustan Garage Motors as a Manager and worked for few Years. In 1960, he became Bengaluru Mahanagar Karyavah. In 1965, he pioneered the
institution ‘Rashtrotthana Parishat’, now a leading service organisation of Karnataka. He became a Pracharak in 1995. He was Sah Kshetra Pracharak in 2002 and Kshetra Pracharak in 2004 heading the RSS activities of Karnataka and united Andhra Pradesh. Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Shri Bhayyaji Joshi, Sahsarkaryavahs Shri Suresh Soni, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Dr Krishna Gopal and Shri V Bhagaiah also expressed condolences.
