Twenty-one day long HSS Vishwa Sangh Shiksha Varg-2016 organised at Nairobi was attended by 33 Shiksharthis from 10 countries and 22 Sevikas from four countries
Nairobi: The 21-day Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) cadre training camp, the Vishwa Sangh Shiksha Varg-2016, concluded in Nairobi, Kenya on December 31. Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Shri Bhayyaji Joshi addressed the concluded Ceremony. Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s Alaka Inamdar and other functionaries also attended the valedictory ceremony.
Began on December 10, 2016, the residential camp was visited by RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Anil Oak, HSS’s Soumitra Gokhale, Shri Anil Vartak and few others. On December 25 a spectacular Path Sanchalan, route march was organised at HCK Ground of Nairobi. The camp had begun on December 10, 2016.
Bhayyaji Joshi said such camps are needed to produce men of character who would work for the cause of humanity. He also hoped that the Hindu society outside Bharat would act as a torch bearer for universal peace and harmony based on age old Hindu values. Impressive physical demonstrations were presented to the 300 odd spectators which included High Commissioner of Bharat Smt Suchitra and many prominent leaders of the Hindu society. The camp was attended by 33 Shiksharthis from 10 countries and 22 Sevikas from 4 countries.
Vivek Band: Character Building, Nation Building
Bengaluru: The month-long ‘Vivek Band’ campaign to spread the legacy of Swami Vivekananda by wearing a ‘Wrist Band ‘with the message “Be Good– Do Good” was launched on December 28, 2016 by Ramakrishna Math’s Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence Director Swami Bodhamayananda. The campaign is being promoted by Samskruti Foundation, aiming at involving over ten lakh youth with slogan of “Character Building-Nation Building”.
Launching the campaign Swami Bodhamayananda stressed the need to have a programme on character building in all professional colleges. He recalled that Swami Vivekananda had given more prominence to character building because the men with character will be able to preserve freedom in any sort of crisis. Quoting the former President of India Dr S Radhakrishnan, he said while many of us exist in the soil of India, but it was Swami Vivekananda who lived as soul of India. He hoped that the campaign would promote character building among the youth, which is essential for the progress of nation. Prof NV Ramana Rao advised youth to have higher goals and move ahead with confidence that brings success in whatever assignment they undertake. Social activist Shri Annadanam Subrahmanyam asked the youth to take a key role in the development of the nation.
Vivek Band campaign commenced from January 1, where a large number of youth promoted to celebrate National Youth Day on Vivekananda Jayanti on January 12. Wearing Vivek Bands, they would take pledge to “Be Good and Do Good”. This campaign will conclude on Netaji Jayanati Day (January 23) by engaging youth in community service. On January 26, the youth will participate in flag hoisting in their respective
localities.

Shri Bhagwat said the land where our ancestors set high standards and values is our motherland. One of our ancestor Sri Ram set the ideal of valour by killing the demons with the help of Vanvasis. Today, Pope says that they have converted three parts of the world into Christianity and now it is the turn of Asia. But they should not forget that despite their all efforts during 300 years they could hardly convert six per cent people into Christianity. Churches are at sale in their own countries. Even then they want to convert us. We are the followers of Sanatan Dharma, which converted none in the world. Our eternal culture is based on the truth and valour. We have to first make the people good and a true Hindu and then the entire world as good. We are the Hindus and will remain as Hindus only.
Recalling the call of Swami Pranavananda to transform the society through sewa Shri Bhagwat said the awakening of the society through sewa will help us get rid of various problems. “We have to strengthen the society without expecting anything from the Government. We have to serve the society without expecting anything in exchange. This will not only strengthen the Hindu society but will also send a good message to the entire world.
International general secretary of Bharat Sevashram Sangh Swami Vishwatmanand Maharaj, joint secretary Swami Ambarishananda Maharaj, Swami Santprasad Maharaj of Swaminarayan Mandir (Halol-Kalol) and Prince of Vasanda Shri Jaivirendra Singh also addressed the gathering. More than 50,000 Vanvasis were present on the occasion.
VHP to step-up Sewa Activities
Nagpur: The Board of Trustees and Management Committee of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad that met at Maa Umiya Dham from December 29 to 31 discussed in detail the steps to be taken for eradication of untouchability, curbing conversion, ensuring Hindu security, cow protection, education to all, social harmony and also strengthening the sewa activities. The meeting also passed a resolution
stressing on Common Civil Code in the country. About 250 leaders from India and about a dozen from outside India participated in the meeting.
Speaking at the inaugural session on December 29 Pujya Govinddev Giri Maharaj stressed on taking all sections of the society together and take all possible steps to ensure harmony in the society. VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia said the VHP has been able to ensure education to 20 lakh people in 53,000 villages of the country without seeking any help from the governments. He said apart from 150 hostels, the VHP runs thousands of other sewa projects. “But still many other milestones to be achieved. We will fight like Jatayu for security of the Hindu society,” he said adding that Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be built as per the resolution passed by the saints in 1989.

Bhubaneshwar: Foundation Day of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and also the birth anniversary of Kalyan Ashram founder Bala Saheb Deshpande were celebrated all over the country on December 26. As part of the celebration, a function was held in Bhubaneshwar, where Governor of Jharkhand Smt Draupadi Murmu was the chief guest. Kalyan Ashram vice president Shri Kripa Prasad Singh was the chief speaker. Others who graced the occasion included Shri JP Mishra, Shri Haricharan Bandra, Dr Sanjit Kumar Panda and RSS National Executive Member Shri Sunil Pada Goshwami.
Smt Murmu said the Government of India is spending huge money for the development of Tribals. “The Government
provides ‘paisa’ (money), while Balasaheb Deshpande
provides ‘disha’ (direction) for development. The Kalyan Ashram is the largest organisation of the country working for Vanvasi development,” she said adding that truth is one but scholars define it in different way. Like that Vanvasis, Adivasis, Adimjatis, Janjatis or Tribals are all the same. “I am glad to know that 19,200 sewa projects are being run by the Kaylan Ashram in Vanvasi villages for their development. Protection of Vanvasi culture is really a basic service. Writing books on Vanvasi heroes, literature on festivals and rituals is a great service to the rural people,” the Governor added.
Shri Kripa Prasad Singh said the Kalyan Ashram is not serving the Vanvasis for any punya or moksha. We all are of the same blood and our DNA is also the same. Our country is same, our God and Goddesses are also the same. He said 1,33,431 students are getting education in Kalyan Ashram schools, hostels and informal education centres. This year the health workers treated 11,42,667 patients in remote area. Beneficiaries of village development, skill development, SHG and other economic development projects are more than a lakh. He said about 2,000 full time workers, part time
workers and Vistaraks are working in the Vanvasi areas.
Awaken the society against terrorism
Chennai: RSS Perambur Bhag organised ‘Hindu Sakti Sangamam’ on January 2 wherein 367 swayamsevaks participated in full uniform. The swayamsevaks demonstrated Niyuddha, Padavinyas, Yoga and Pyramid formation. Prant Sharirik Pramukh Shri Kumaresan, Prant Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Murali Mohan and other Sangh adhikaris were present. Shri Velanainar, freedom fighter, presided over the function. Swami Sudharsanachariyar in his blessings said in ancient days, sages had ‘thridanda’ in hand to protect dharma, today RSS swayamsevaks have ‘Danda’ in hand to protect dharma.
Shri T S Ravikumar, Prant Bauddhik Pramukh while quoting the glory of ancient past from the works of ‘Bharthiyar’ highlighted the spirit of nationalism and how the world looks at us through Yoga. Citing the examples from Ramayana, Ramanuja, Bharatiyar, Sahajanandar, Vaidyanathan on caste indiscrimination and a declaration by uniting all Sadhus in Udipi in 1969, where a landmark resolution on ‘untouchability a sin’ took place, he appealed to set right today’s society as a responsible society.
VHP hails SC directive on Vote-Bank politics
New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on January 2 welcomed the Supreme Court ruling barring political parties and candidates seeking votes in the name of religion, caste, community, race or language. VHP joint general secretary Dr Surendra Jain said the politics based on caste, community and religion has harmed the country a lot. Welcoming the court’s decision he said “Vote bank politics would be curbed by this decision and the judgement would prove to be a landmark in nation-building. Now it is the duty of the Election Commission to implement in its letter and spirit. We appeal to the Election Commission to derecognise the politicaparties and debar the candidates who violate any provision of this verdict,” Dr Jain added. A constitution bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur by a 4:3 majority passed the order on the basis of Section 123(3) of the Representation of People’s Act.
Sadhana turns 60
Ahmedabad: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, on January 1, released the special issue of Sadhana, the leading Gujarat weekly, on its 60th anniversary. Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Jayantibhai Bhadesia, Prant Sanghachalak Shri Mukeshbhai Malkan and many trustees of Sadhna Publication were also present.
“Sadhna has to make entire Gujarat its friend. A swayamsevak works to bring all the Hindus closer to each other, and the Hindu society works for making the entire world as friend. We all are working to provide what the society actually needs. When one works with a mission and vision, it is not merely a journey but a sadhana. The Sadhana should continue and the sadhak too should remain as sadhak only,” Shri Bhagwat said while releasing the issue. He said while striving for success we should not forget where to reach and how to reach. “We should continue to spread the message of truth up to the villages. No mater everybody coming into the contact of a swayamsevak does not become a swayamsevak, but he should at least become a good citizen,” Shri Bhagwat said.
The Sarsanghachalak said, however, it is difficult to survive in the age of competition. “The direction that Shri Guruji gave to the Sadhana 60 years back is still relevant. Shri Guruji had said the content of Sadhana should be based on the truth and it should not flow with the time. We have completed 60 years. But the journey still continue. It is time to evaluate what we could not do in the 60 years and resolve to achieve that while overcoming the shortcomings,” he said hoping that the function of celebrating 120 years will also be equally befitting and he would also will be present in that function.”
Christian Priest’s befitting reply to the pseudo secularists

Kollam: Fr T P Shajan’s reply to the pseudo secularists’ attack on him is now viral in social media. The workers of CPM and other pseudo secularists and some extremist groups pounded heavy attack on the Malankara Orthodox Church priest for lighting the nilavilakku (traditional lamp) before the picture of Bharat Mata and then participating in the Ekatmatastotram in RSS Kollam Grameen Zilla’s Prathamik Shikshan Shibir (primary training camp, commonly called ITC) in Vendar, Kollam District.
Fr Shajan’s voice message post reads as follows: “God is great. I am the parish priest in Puthoor Valiya Palli under Kollam Diocese. This is my reply to the WhatsApp posts about my visit to RSS camp, lighting the lamp before Bharat Mata’s picture and for participating in Ekatmatastotram. RSS conducted its training camp in a nearby school during X-mas holidays. They perform a mediation called Ekatmata Stotram at 5.30 every morning. It praises the environment, culture, Puranik personalities, national leaders and personalities of high esteem like Kabir Das, Surdas, Ramakrishna, Dayananda, Vivekananda, Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar, Sreenarayana Gurudev, etc. It starts with lighting the lamp by a prominent person of the area. They invited me for the same as a Christian priest and I performed it with due respect. The members of Malankara Orthodox Church have always been taking pride in the cultural riches of our country. History says, they have taken part in the country’s Freedom Struggle with all vigour and smiles. Therefore, I do not feel even iota of regret for participating in this programme. I believe that there is nothing wrong if a priest attends a programme for promoting brotherhood and coadunation.”
A prominent personality belonging to the area, where RSS primary training camps held in Kerala, is invited to light the lamp before the picture of Bharat Mata at 5.30 every morning. Then they participate in the chanting of Ekatmata Mantra (Samanwaya Mantra) and Ekatmatastotra. There is an ample opportunity for the prominent citizens to see from a close range what RSS is. Malankara Orthodox Church is prominent in Central Thiruvithankoor area, with a huge number of followers and faithfuls. Their ‘no proselytisation’ stand is well known in the State. They always maintain good rapport with the Hindus.

On January 3, 2017, Hon President of Bharat Shri Pranab Mukherjee was presented with the Collector’s Editions of Organiser and Panchjanya dedicated to 90 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). NOBW demands wage revision for bank employees
New Delhi: National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) while thanking the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for applauding the role of the bank employees in successfully handling the entire demonetisation process, urged him for revision of the wages of bank employees.
In a letter to the Prime Minister on January 2 the NOBW said the bank employees have performed excellently not only during implementation of demonetisation but also in all the
previous schemes including Jan Dhan, Mudra Loans, Atal Pension Yojna, Pardhanmantri Pension Yojna, etc.
The NOBW national vice president Shri Ashwani Rana said the present wage structure of the bank employees is very poor and they get about half of the salary paid to the Central Government employees. He also urged the Prime Minster to consider the compassionate appointment to pre-2014 cases. “We are happy that the Finance Minister has considered compassionate appointment demand w.e.f. August, 2014 onward. But, thousands of families of pre-2014 also have been waiting for the compassionate appointment,” the letter said.
Manoj Verma is new Bajrang Dal chief
New Delhi: Shri Manoj Verma is new national convener of the Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of VHP. Shri Sohan Singh Solanki of Madhya Pradesh will be the co-convener. Shri Milind Parande has been given the responsibility of new joint general secretary of the VHP. These changes were made at the recent meeting of VHP’s Board of Trustees and the Management Committee in Nagpur. Shri Verma was national co-convener before assuming this responsibility. Even after terror threats and administrative challenges, his constant efforts succeeded in reviving Baba Budha Amaranath Yatra in terror hit Jammu & Kashmir.
