Kashmiris at present are finding themselves in devil and deep sea situation. On the one hand there are plans of the Government to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir State but on the other hand there are Kashmiri youth who have lost the fear of death and are going towards extremism. A few years back there used to be azadi flags but now there are Pakistani flags. I will not be surprised if after a few years there are ISI flags. When these Kashmiri youth are told that since India is a super power their movement would be easily crushed, the reply is that crushing of movement would give birth to another generation of anti–India youth as happened when Jagmohan crushed it in 1990 when he was the Governor of the State. I pray to God that sense prevails in these youths and J&K is saved from Syria or Iraq like situation.

Bhagawa Dhwaj as our national flag
(RSS Swayamsevak unfurls Bhagawa Dhwaj at Island Peak Summit, October 30); This refers to the news report in the News Round-up Page in Organiser. Rajesh Asher who unfurled the flag certainly deserves congratulations for it. It should not stop here. We are eagerly waiting, when Shri Narendra Modi would unfurl Bhagawa Dhwaj in the Parliament, and make it a national flag in place of tricolour. In fact it should have happened on August 15th 1947 itself as truncated Bharat was legitimately meant to be the homeland for the Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, etc. Our country would be truly a free country, only after we have Bhagawa Dhwaj as our national flag.

It was astonishing to see former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh accuse the Modi Government of “monumental mismanagement” and “organised loot” due to demonetisation, when, during his own 10 year stint, he did nothing to tackle the menace of black money and counterfeit currency. His regime was pockmarked by a series of scandals which involved billions of rupees – 2G Scam, Coal Scam, Commonwealth Games scam and more. This was due to his policy paralysis, incompetence and subservience to an unconstitutional authority. In the Upper House, Singh spoke in a dull, halting manner, which was suggestive of the fact that he is still unwell. However, this time Singh who is often referred to as maun (silent) by some critics, seemed to be well prepared to unleash venom against his successor, who spearheaded the Congress’s monumental defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Keep Patience
I fail to understand why there is so much hue and cry regarding demonetisation when Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has requested the public to have faith in him and be patient in the ongoing demonetisation. In fact Shri Modi has appealed to all the people to bear with the Government for the next 50 days. There is no doubt that people have been inconvenienced, which would have been inevitable no matter, however, different way the scheme would have been rolled out. Shri Modi has admitted that there are certain problems in the way scheme has been rolled out. Nonetheless, the interest of the nation is supreme and curbing of the black money, is right step. The Opposition true to its colours has said that the demonetisation scheme may not be effective in curbing the malaise of corruption and with it, black money as much of it may not be stored in currency notes. Although, it has failed to point out the necessary evidence for this argument. Shri Modi’s demonetisation drive has the capacity to render all the black money stored without any due consideration to taxation and thus, illegal into waste paper. If the scheme works out the way it is intended to, it will be called a master stroke in cricket parlance and will bowl the corrupt out for a duck. Keeping the frayed nerves calm would be good for the market and also for the citizens of the country. These are the testing time for the nation with a growing economy.

It is by now clear that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s thrust, which includes high-level political and diplomatic visits to these nations in the last two years, is paying rich dividends gradually. West Asia, a traditional ally of Pakistan, has shown deep interest in re-orienting its focus towards India. It must be recounted here that some of the nations in the region like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain, not only condemned the Uri attack, but also offered full support to India’s surgical strikes on terror camps across the Line of Control. At around the same time, news media reported that both the “UAE and Bahrain have in their statements, supported any action by India to control, eradicate and fight terrorism”. Thus, in a way, some of the potential powers of West Asia and the members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), directly backed India in its mission to tame the Pakistan-sponsored Islamist terror network, which has its origins in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and in the camps along the International Border. All of these points clearly show the fact that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s proactive diplomacy has helped India realign its ties with resource-rich nations of West Asia and the OIC, unlike the previous decade when the UPA Government’s balancing act hardly brought any result. |
A Right Step
Truly 9.11.2016 is a BLACK DAY for BLACK MONEY, when the Prime Minister played a master stroke by demonetising the currency notes of Rs 500/- and Rs 1,000/- denominations. It is a bolt from the blue to the opponents of Shri Modi. They made foolish, false and frivolous statements especially and surprisingly after the President of India, who is Ex-Finance Minister of UPA, had appreciated heartily the measure of demonetisation by the Prime Minister. The condemners of this step vindicated that they are protagonists of ‘black money hoarding’ and ‘terrorism’. Had there been prior and advance public notice in this regard as demanded, the hoarders of unaccounted money would have protected their currency hoardings. In the hour of fast growing economy of India with high value transactions, the new Rs 2,000/- currency note is necessary for the ‘accounted money holders’. Temporary inconveniences faced by the common man due to demonetisation are negligible when compared to the arduous daily life being faced by our defence forces who protect our life and property round the clock. If the perverted leaders like Rajiv Gandhi, Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee are really worried about Aam Adami’s inconveniences, they should stop forthwith sponsoring and organising bandhs, public dharnas etc., in our country.

Disrupting Parliament is no solution
It is distressing to note that both the Houses of the Parliament were stalled by the Opposition on account of demonetisation. But things have now eased when compared to the early days. The Opposition is being irresponsible. It should instead help the Government mitigate the people’s sufferings. Disrupting Parliament is no solution.

Modi’s trap to catch Black Money
Kudos to Modi for implementing demonetisation. General public is well aware that it is being implemented because Shri Modi has the guts to catch the hoarders of black money. This ‘demonetisation scheme’ is unprecedented, most courageous to protect the value of Indian currency; not many developed countries would dare what Modi has done. The decision had to be secret and sudden for maximum gain and minimum pain. Modi deserves Nobel Prize. There is not a single politician in the Opposition who could face the onslaught of Arun Jaitley. Modi has done it for the benefit of the people, not for the corrupt politicians hoarding black money and becoming millionaires over night. There are anger, anguish, inconvenience, pains, worries, and protest among majority of the populace but they all agreed that at this juncture demonetisation was absolute necessity and the right decision. When Modi will abolish dynastic rule and rulers who appease minorities for votes? Who are the people that cross border illegally, trade fake currency notes, make terrorists hideouts, smuggle cattle, make bomb and arms factories? The ruler of the concerned State is well aware but vote-politics keep them mum, and security of India is no concern to them. Only those political leaders who possess black money are protesting and asking for probe, their friendly media is publicising the concocted news stories.
