Itanagar: “The RSS is always with the indigenous people of every State, because we feel that only the traditions originated from the land of Bharat can open the path of peace and progress for the entire world,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while interacting with the leaders of various Janjati
communities on December 12. A total of 110 leaders representing all 26 Janjati communities of the State joined the interaction.
Right from Tirap to Tawang, prominent persons from each Janjati community expressed their views. It was for the first-time that all community leaders including Buddhist faith like Monpa, Singpho and Khampti, Miji shared the same dais and discussed the protection, preservation and promotion of their indigenous faith, customs and
culture. Appreciating their efforts Shri Bhagwat said the victory of indigenous faiths is sure because we are all on
the path of truth. Chief Information Commissioner Dr Joram Begi, Shri Nabam Atum, Dr Tai Nyori, Tony Koyu, Taba Hare, Dr Ligu Tacho and many other dignitaries attended the interaction.
During his maiden Arunachal Pradesh tour the Sarsanghachalak addressed Arun Chetna Sammelan at Indira Gandhi Park on December 11. Not a single banner or hording was used for the mega rally. Itanagar capital complex was divided into 100 sectors wherein total 150 small
meetings comprising of 10-40 participants were held as basic effort on ground. No home in Itanagar was spared from mobilisation. Three masjids of the capital also invited the Sangh karyakartas to hold meetings for the Sammelan. Many local Muslims also joined the Sammelan.
Appreciating the national spirit and patriotism of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Bhagwat saluted them for rebuking the Chinese regime every time they claim Arunachal to be theirs. Earlier, Er. Taba Tedir, chairman of the organising committee said the land of rising sun has always been an integral part of Bharat from the pre Mahabharata period and the places like Parasuram Kund, Bhishmak Nagar and Malinithan stand as the
testimony to it. The war memorials at Tawang and Wallong reflect the strategic importance and contribution of the State for national integration. Shri Tumge Lollen, prominent businessman and
secretary of the organising committee said the RSS did not resort to raising environment-polluting hoardings, flex banners or posters to convey its message but believe person-to persons contact and the massive gathering at Arun Chetana Sammelan certifies the spirit of social responsibility and national integration.

Earlier on December 10, Shri Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated Seva Dham, the office complex of Arunachal Pradesh Charitable Task (APCT). Located near the Govt Women’s College at Lekhi Village in Naharlagun, Seva Dham acts as the epicentre of service projects and charity works undertaken by RSS through its registered societies like Arunachal Pradesh Charitable Task (APCT) and Seva Bharati Arunachal Pradesh. n
Jhalod: Saints from different parts of Gujarat assembled at the Virat Hindu Sammelan organised by Shri Keshav Sewa Samiti and stressed on collective efforts to eradicate superstition from the society. The preparations for the Sammelan were going on for the last seven months. More than 35,000 people from 1,200 villages participated in the Sammelan. About 125 saints were also present.
The saints felicitated the wives of martyr Rumal Bhai Razak and Amarsingh Katara who sacrificed their lives for the nation while fighting against terrorists in Kashmir. Shri Kashibhai Mangalbhai Patel, retired teacher who has acquired patents on his 11 inventions, was also honoured. Bhajnik Arjunbhai Nadhora, retired differently-abled teacher from Valmiki community was also honoured. The saints collectively called for eradication of caste based differences, addiction, untouchability and all other evils which are weakening the society.
Dr Dalsukhdasji Maharaj applauded the efforts of the RSS for unity of the Hindu society. He said the huge
gathering of villagers in the Hindu Sammelan will lead to a positive change. Shri Charandasji Maharaj stressed the need to be cautious from the converted Hindus who are conspiring to covert other Hindus to the alien faith.
Mahant Shri Kamalgiri Maharaj, Shri Vikramdasji Maharaj, Kangarh Maharaj and Paschim Kshetra Karyavah Shri Sunilbhai Mehta also spoke.
New Delhi: Bharatiya Bhasha Manch and Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya jointly organised a symposium on “Indian Language Journalism: Challenges and Remedies” on December 10. Shri Atul Kothari, secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and patron of the Bhasha Manch, stressed on generating a sense of self-respect among the people towards their own languages. “Everyone need to be the brand
ambassador of one’s own language,” he said adding that it is a misconception that English journalism is more factual and research based compare to the
language journalism. He emphasised on reducing the clash between languages and collective work for the betterment of all the languages. Bharatiya Bhasha Manch is working in that direction only.
Prof BK Kuthiala, VC of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya said most of the
people who converse in English, think in their own languages. He said about 90 per cent of the work in our country is done in Indian languages but the
administration does not work in our own languages. Shri Sudhir Chaudhary of ‘Zee News’ said the future of Hindi is not grim. Citing the Power Language survey of World Economic Forum he said Hindi will be among the top ten biggest languages of the world by the year 2050.
Shri Vijay Kranti, consulting editor of ‘Doordarshan’, said Hindi is moving fast and top ten biggest newspapers in the country belong to Hindi only. He said those who are active with NGO mentality in the language journalism are harming it more. Shri Vrishabh Prasad Jain, national convener of the Bhasha Manch also spoke on the occasion.
Amarkantak: In order to make the River Narmada
pollution-free, a month long Namami Devi Narmada Sewa Yatra began on December 11 in the presence of
environmentalists, saints, political and social activists. Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshananda Giri, Swami Chidananda Saraswati, Baba Kalyan Das, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhayyaji Joshi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani and others inaugurated the Yatra, which is going to cover a distance of about 3,500-kilometers. Addressing the gathering Shri Bhayyajji Joshi said civilisations have developed along the banks of rivers in India. He said culture, religion, business, among other things, had their genesis alongside the rivers. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan invited one and all to join the Yatra. No one should be left out from taking advantage of this holy mission, he said adding that Narmada has blessed MP abundantly. “It was because of the river, that the State got four annual National Awards consecutively for leading in agriculture yield in the country. Due to ‘Maiya’ (Mother Narmada) our growth rate has been superbed,” he said. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said the river has benefitted this State hugely. He said Gujarat will also join in the Yatra when it reaches there.
Kanchipuram: Bharat Parikrama Yatra by veteran Sangh Pracharak Shri Sitaram Kedilaya reached Kanchipuram on December 8. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sewa Pramukh Shri Ajit Prasad Mohapatra, national convener of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati Shri Sunder Lakshman, Prant Karyavah (Uttar Tamil Nadu) Shri Sambamurthy, Prant Seva Pramukh Shri Ramarajasekar also joined the Yatra. Beginning the day with the darshan of Kamakshi Amman and Varadaraja Perumal, Shri Kedilaya visited Shri Ramanujacharya’s house (where he lived for some time) and the place of Maha Periyava. He was welcomed by Mutt authorities in Kanchi Mutt. Later in different programmes, he interacted with college students, families and addressed the gathering of elites. He also spoke to mediapersons and emphasised on upliftment of villages.
Chennai: Severe cyclonic storm ‘Vardha’ hit Chennai and coastal areas of Tamil Nadu causing heavy damage to the city. Winds with a speed of 110 km/per hour uprooted many trees, hitting the Chennai worst after decades. Warning by meteorological department had kept the citizens to stay indoors and safe. The RSS swayamsevaks from various parts of the city were on the field helping the people to move to safe places; cutting uprooted trees paving the way for the vehicles to move freely and clearing the roads. This timely action helped in restoring essential services in the affected area.
Hyderabad: A team of 14 swayamsevaks, residents of Sherilingampally Nagar, distributed sweaters and blankets to the deprived people sleeping on roadside on December 3 night. The swayamsevaks, most of them college students, visited local apartments, colonies and collected old newspapers and books weighing around 326 Kgs and 123 kgs and sold them to scrap and used the money to purchase winter clothes.
In colonies, like Doctorji Colony, Gurukrupa Nagar, several families including employees and women came forward enthusiastically and collected old blankets and sweater’s, which were in good condition, washed and pressed. As this collecting activity was
happening, swayamsevaks conducted survey for two days at night times around 11 pm to 1 am to locate the right people who are in need of blankets. Finally, on December 3, they started distributing blankets and sweaters from Lingampally Doyens Colony at 11:30 pm and it continued till 4:30 am.
New Delhi: Bhagini Nivedita Sewa Nyas, which is dedicated to the help of Hindus coming from Pakistan following persecution, again came to the rescue of these people who lost their everything on November 27 when fire gutted their jhuggis set up at Majnu Ka Tila near Yamuna Bank.
The Nyas provided them not only ration, clothes, utensils, stoves, etc to start the life afresh, but also assured to rehabilitate them. The Nyas is also shortly going to provide them cots. According to general secretary of the Nyas Shri Mahavir Prasad Gupta, whenever any Pakistani Hindu faces any trouble the Nyas tries to provide them immediate help.
National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) appealed to the media and the people not to generalise and blame all the banks and 10 lakh bank employees as well as officers for the shameful acts of a few employees of banking industry following demonitisation. “We request the Government of India to conduct investigation in this regard so that whosoever has done wrong is punished. It is very easy to find out from the RBI records regarding currency ceased by Police and Income tax authorities in raids. By doing this, actual culprits will be exposed. All bank employees are not doing wrong. They are doing their duty sincerely and with honestly,” said NOBW vice president Ashwani Rana in a statement issued on December 13.
Amidst the reports of some Bank officers being arrested for backing the corrupts in currency exchange after demonitisation, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has urged the government to punish the guilty, but not those who have done good work during the entire campaign. “Most of the people either working in banks, printing of currency in government printing presses and also those involved in transportation of the currency to the banks etc have worked over time after the announcement of demonitisation. But those people have not been paid their overtime. They should be paid fourthwith. Those who have been found guilty in helping the corrupts should be punished, but not all,” said BMS north zone organising secretary Shri Pawan Kumar. He also questioned the privatisation of banks keeping in view the involvement of some private banks in malpractices.
