Demonetisation has solved only one half of the black money problem. The other – generation of black money in respect on new currencies – still remains unattended. Severe curb on the flow of cash must be introduced. A cap of Rs. 5,000 should be imposed on cash transactions. The use of cash for gold purchase must be addressed. There must be a control on real estate
dealings too. Everyone talks of
creation of a caste-less society but what is more important is the
establishment of a cashless society.

Right Dose was Required
(Clean Sweep, not a White Wash, November, 20); Apropos to the article ‘Clean Sweep, not a White Wash’ by Bhagwati Prakash Sharma in Organiser. A person becomes a patient when he is having some illness, but the moment right dose of medicine is administered to him he gets cured and soon becomes healthy. The same thing is with our society. Shri Modi’s dose of medicine may be bitter today but its future repercussions would be very good. Our society which had become completely corrupt would soon become healthy with Shri Modi’s dose and the economy will grow benefitting each and every citizen of Bharat. Prime Minister Shri Modi’s master-stroke of demonetisation drive will eliminate counterfeit notes in circulation and bring black money holders under the scanner to a large extent. It will also help us to move towards a cashless economy.Today the rich and the powerful whose money is stashed in tax havens outside the country are leading hassle free lives. The timely and swift move to cleanse the system of the cancerous black money is welcome. The bold stroke of demonetisation may rattle people, but it will definitely inject dynamism in a moribund economy.

Address Grievances
Demonetisation is a most commendable step taken Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to curb black money menace. The Government must be applauded for the drive, but the public has some genuine grievances which must be addressed urgently. It becomes difficult for the people to stand in queues for hours, especially ladies and old people or people who are sick, therefore the government must ensure that the new notes reach the respective banks immediately so that people are not harassed. Further police personnel should be deployed near the banks so that anti-social elements are checked. The bank authorities should also see that forms for changing old currency are adequately available at the bank counters for the customers.

End to Balancing Acts
The current visit of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin to India highlights how both the nations are emerging from the closet to become natural allies. Long held balancing acts in India-Israel relations have gone now. With the coming of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the era of India’s staid diplomatic establishment was replaced by active engagement of nations, cutting across ideological barriers of the Cold War days. It is now clear that Shri Modi has placed national interest first, while making friends and cornering enemies. At such a crucial juncture the arrival of President Rivlin on a six day visit to India, reflects how pragmatism is
guiding bilateral ties, banishing the lull that overshadowed it, for nearly a decade during the UPA rule.

Aam adami is with Modi

People are with the Prime Minister and are ready to stand in long queues because they are quite aware that after a few days struggle they will be free from the nasty misrule of corruption, which lead to the menace of black money. Even as the poor and the middle class people are rejoicing over Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive, political adversaries, especially the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are out to politicise this issue. They are leaving no stone unturned to create resentment among the people against the Modi Government. Unfazed by criticism, Shri Modi has revealed that he has more projects in his mind to fight the black money menace. People, who converged in banks to deposit, withdraw and exchange old currencies, expressed their desire for demonetisation of even Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 notes so that those who have hoarded these currencies can too be exposed. This clearly shows that the aam adami is not disenchanted with the Modi administration. Instead Shri Modi is liked among the poor and the middle class.

Pakistan’s Duplicity
The recent strike by Indian Army on Pakistan has compelled Pakistan authorities to accept that they suffered casualties on their side. The normal practice in Pakistan is to hide its own casualties. This is done to give an impression to the locals that only the Indian soldiers were killed. This is also done to convince the Pakistanis that India is a week country. The surgical strikes carried by India too were denied by Pakistan in toto. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s policy of
isolating Pakistan diplomatically has been fruitful as Pakistan is now keen to re-establish itself in the world
community as an aggrieved party, which is losing the lives of its solders, calling it an instance of human right violations.

Are Indian Muslims above the Constitution?
How is it that reforms in Christian and the Hindu family laws can be discussed and introduced, but cannot be done vis-à-vis the Muslim community? Are Indian Muslims above the Constitution? That too at a time when educated and enlightened Muslim women have gone to the courts against triple talaq. Can a progressive society accept that its large segment continue to pursue primitive practices of gender inequality? In a secular democracy the Constitution is supreme and no religion can dominate the nation in the name of religious freedom or having minority status. Compromising with
constitutional provisions particularly secular clauses will not only dwindle the stability of our democratic structure but also corrode the people’s trust in our system.
Kudos To Trump
(Trump Triumphs,November 20); This refers the  cover story of Organiser titled ‘Trump Triumphs’ by Dilip Chaware. Donald John Trump deserves kudos for becoming the 45th president of the United States, capping a historic and boisterous run by an outsider who captured a loyal following across a swath of America fed up with establishment politics, the news media and elected officials. People seem to favour leaders who are assertive and authoritative. This is a political and cultural cataclysm that few believed would really happen. The unthinkable is only unthinkable until it happens. It is phenomenal that Trump managed to win despite the media and the establishment’s rebukes against him for his vile remarks throughout the campaign. Trump’s vicious and brutal campaign against Hillary Clinton may have served as a vehicle of victory on the road to the White House. He pulled off getting to the White House when even Republicans worked against him. His victory also marks a rejection of the mainstream news media, which extensively covered Trump’s scandals and self-contradictions. The rise of Donald Trump comes as a surprise to not only a large chunk of Americans but also to the world. Let us hope Trump, who had been criticised by opponents as divisive and racist will be a president for all Americans and will also prove to be a strong ally in India’s efforts to curb terrorism.

Pakistani Mohalla
(Delhi’s Pakistani Mohalla, October 10);This refers to the article ‘Delhi’s Pakistani Mohalla’ by Nishant Kr Azad in Organiser. He has given details of prosecutions and discriminations against the Hindus in Pakistan and also indifferent attitude of India towards the Hindu refugees, coming from Pakistan. We should not blame Pakistan so much, since Mr Jinnah and the Muslim League were very clear in their aim of creating Pakistan as a homeland for the entire Muslim population of undivided Bharat and thus pleaded for complete exchange of population. The real culprits are Gandhi, Nehru and the Congress who accepted creation of Pakistan for the Muslims but refused to make truncated Bharat as homeland for the Hindus and the non- Muslims. This is the biggest treachery they have done to the Hindus and are fully responsible not only for the cruelties being done to the Hindus in Pakistan, but also for communal and Muslim problem in truncated Bharat. The only solution is to faithfully follow the principle of Two Nation Theory which was the basis of accepting creation of Pakistan, de-franchise Muslims, withdraw their citizenship rights and ask Pakistan and Bangladesh for complete exchange of population.
