IPF seminar on Baloch Nationality & Colonistaion by Pakistan on October 1 in New Delhi exposed the crisis within Pakistan “Pakistan is a state of mind and not a country. It has mal-intention for everyone, at its borders or other cultures, ethnicity and religion inside Pakistan”, said Tarak Fateh, a Canadian author of Pakistani origin at the seminar. Tarek Fateh narrated the historical background of Muslim’s religious and political aspirations in South Asia region. Time of South Asia has been changed; it will shape itself to move in decisive manner. He also addressed the need to honor National Anthem and said that India needs to take care of Sindh and whole of Punjab to complete the anthem statement. He said that India has to perform leadership role for the stability of the region and Pakistan has to be controlled for peace of the region. Tarek Fateh also spoke about the duplicity of Jinnah, who duped the Baluch. He said, “Jinnah was the greedy, corrupt lawyer of the British”. “Baluchistan was an Independent state and very soon it will get independence from the hands of Pakistan. It is the responsibility of Indians to help Baluch to attain freedom.” He also appreciated the ‘Surgical Strikes’ done by India recently after the Uri attack. On the occasion, Mazdak Dilshad Baloch, a prominent Baloch Freeedom activist said that the P M Narendra Modi understands the ‘pain’ of the people of Baluchistan. Addressing the audience Mazdak Dilshad Baloch, revealed the ‘Kill and Dump’ policy of Pakistan. He mentioned about the internal colonisation of Baluchistan by Pakistan and how they have been successful till now to suppress Baluch voice. He showed the determination to continue to fight till independence of Baluchistan. “In the last 70 years, no Baluch leader has come to India. But now, we have come and we are happy with the response. India is with us”, he said. He expressed satisfaction with the Indian response to the “Baluch appeal”. “India understands feeling of Baluch people because India fought for freedom and Indians know the value of freedom”, he added. He also took a jibe on Jinnah and said, “Jinnah was a backstabber and because of him only Baluchistan is in this situation today”. On atrocities by Pakistan, he said “They kill Baluchi with pride and enjoy the rape and killings of Baluchs.” On the occasion, India Policy Foundation (IPF) Director Rakesh Sinha hit out at Amnesty International, for chest thumping on Kashmir issue, but turning a blind eye towards Baluchistan. He also mentioned about West in general and USA in particular for escaping the moral responsibility on Baluchistan and deliberately maintaining the silence. He said, “So-called upholder of Human Rights never raise finger on the atrocities done by Pakistan on Baluchistan. They work with an agenda.” Defence expert GD Bakshi was also present on the occasion. He said, “We will give moral, diplomatical and political support to Baluchistan”. “Since, Independence, defensive policy and porous borders of India took 1000’s of life. The shift to offensive defense policy has neutralised the pressure of borders. After 30 years we have a leader, Modi, who has deterministic approach towards border and international matters and can take decisions. He warned India about the malicious intent of China behind CPEC. The curve of CPEC lies close to Punjab and Rajasthan, had it been across Sindhu River, it would be cheaper. This clearly reveals the strategy of China to pressurise India in future by different fronts. Help to Baluch cause is help to ourselves as CPEC and the construction of Gwadar port can hurt our future generations”, he added. Former ambassador of Afghanistan Vivek Katju, gave a realistic picture of the region and relationship of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran with Baluchistan region, and the need to honor the aspirations of Baluch. He termed the baluch issue “unfinished agenda of Pakistan” A booklet, titled ‘Balochistan: What World Needs to Know’, was also released on the occasion. Dignitaries from all walks of life were present on the occasion.—Organiser Bureau
