For how long will the pre-occupation with the Nehru-Gandhi family continue? So much so that there has been a complete exclusion of a far sighted vision to strengthen the Party, to gain the lost ground. State after State, the Congress has been virtually burying its own prospects by concentrating on who will take the flak on losing, rather than how to win. Any onlooker will conclude that the party, including the recently parachuted experts like Prashant Kishor have been tasked only with protecting the first family’s name.

Corrupt Party
The Congress has always been a Party of corrupt. Starting with Mahatama Gandhi who preferred Jawaharlal Nehru over Sardar Patel, in spite of the overwhelming support for the latter from the grass roots. The latest
illustration of this is the Party’s approach to Congress scion Priyanka Vadra and former Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit.

Not serious about the issue
It is surprising that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was caught ‘dozing off’ while the House was discussing about the atrocities on Dalit youths . It reveals  Rahul’s disinterest  and it has caused a major embarrassment to the Congress Party when the party is vigorously raising the anti-Dalit violence issue in Gujarat. It shows that Rahul Gandhi is not serious about issues related to dalits and their welfare.  Union Minister Thaavar Chand Gehlot has rightly commented “It shows that his heart is not on providing justice to Dalit victims. He just wants to do politics. If he was really interested in ensuring justice, then he would not have been sleeping.”

Trouble for  Congress yuvraj
(The Trial Tale, July 31); This refers to the story “The Trial Tale” in Organiser by K Aayushi. Unexpectedly, the Supreme court has taken cognisance on a petition filed by a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh  (RSS) worker, in which Congress scion Rahul Gandhi, in an election congregation in Maharashtra in 2014, had accused the RSS of murdering the Mahatama. The apex court has warned Rahul Gandhi to either apologise to the RSS or be prepared to face trial, on which the Party has preferred the latter option. Even if is presumed that the person who assassinated Mahatama Gandhi  was an RSS worker, though it is not correct, it never surmises that the entire RSS was  behind this diabolical act. Moreover if the Congress version is accepted by the same logic, it  (Congress ) can be held responsible for the 1984 riots. As far as RSS is concerned it is a social organisation, meant for preserving the national integration, fighting against those who are destabilising India and are causing communal harmony.

Attack on Dalits for cow slaughter
This refers to the recent attack on dalits by the public on the allegation that they slaughtered a cow, the incident which took place recently in Rajkot in Gujarat State. But the convicted dalits claim that they skinned a dead cow and not slaughtered it. Here I would like to say that though the Gujarat State has an Act  prohibiting cow slaughter, Iregret, it has not looked beyond cow slaughter and it has no law and needful official formalities after a cow faces a natural death, keeping the cow issue still in dilemma. In fact there should be a rule that after a cow faces a natural death, the owner should make a entry in Panchayat Office of the village. And after needful inspection of the cow by a veterinary doctor to ascertain the cause of its death  a “Death-Certificate” should be issued and a specific place should be allotted at the outskirts  of the village to skin the dead cow. All the states in our country should make necessary amendments in their Cow Act. Further  the cow owners should register their calf soon after its birth and government  should make a ‘Adhar Card’ for the cows  also.

Patronage is being given to criminals in UP
(The Dubious Cult Syndrome, June 19); Apropos  the article ‘The Dubious Cult System’ by Shakti Kumar Pandey in Organiser, giving history and criminal background of Ram Vriksh Yadav who had illegally occupied 300 acres of Jawar Bagh at Mathura. There is no doubt, that all this happened due to patronage given to such criminals by the Uttar Pradesh government headed by Akhilesh Yadav. Here I would like to point out that there are persons and news papers who support such rubbish things , because of hatred towards the BJP, Modi and Swami Ramdev. There was an article written by Prof. Apoorvanand in The Tribune dated 9.6.16 in which Swami Ramdev has been equated with criminal Ram Vriksh Yadav and it is stated that “What makes Sri Sri or Asaram or Ramdev more deserving than Vriksh Yadav?” Apoorvanand also makes very filthy and abusive comments about the RSS and the BJP. Swami Ramdev is respected all over the world for his contribution to Yoga and Ayurveda and has been taking classes on Yoga for the Army, Police, Judges, Foreigners and doing selfless service for the good of humanity. It is a crime to equate him with such criminals.

Pandits leaving the Valley

The latest news of Kashmiri Pandits leaving the Valley for Jammu is a matter of serious concern not only for the State of Jammu and Kashmir but also for the entire nation. Fleeing of nearly 600 Pandits since July 9 working for the State and the union Governments is reflecting the same old attitude of the majority communities towards the minorities particularly in the Valley. Long lost their ancestral properties, today Pandits have been entirely dislodged of their fundamental claim to exercise political rights. It is a grim situation and the Union Government must make sure that Pandits can have their equal rights to stay in the Valley. It is near about a case of ethnic cleansing for the Kashmiri Pandits. In the meantime , pointing towards the current rounds of protests, directly sponsored by Pakistan, Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement calling the neighbour’s acts na-pak ( non pious) is
timely. Indeed his terming of the demand for plebiscite as an out dated one was a stern reminder to Pakistan for not meddling in our internal affairs and
misguiding the people of the State in future.

Response to an ‘Open Letter’
(To My Fellow Kashmiris…, August 7); This is with reference to the Open Letter by Col( Dr) Tej K Tikon in Organiser. It has been written in news papers and reiterated on the television that the terrorists who attacked the security forces and looted weapons from the police stations are well educated ,  from  well-to-do families and are home grown militants. That they are no longer dependent on Pakistan to wage a war on security forces. That it is a new and a dangerous trend and the country should beware of these elements.  This type of thinking is being spread by those who are not in touch with the ground realities. The terrorists who are operating in the Valley are few in number. These elements are well trained, hardcore radicals enjoying the full support of Pakistan. They are being supplied with automatic weapons, hand grenades, survival rations and medical facilities etc. by Pakistan. Within the Valley ‘Safe Homes’ are provided as hideouts by the separatists for them. Mobs are organised by the local clergy to create hysteria and false blames are put on the security forces. Otherwise how can they survive in the hostile terrain of the Valley for so long? These elements who are dangerous to the integrity of the country and the State should be isolated from their support base. While doing so care must be taken that no innocent and law abiding citizen is harmed while applying force. The principle of goodwill must be the guiding line.

Government should act
( Reckless ‘Reality’, July 31 ); This refers to the cover story of Organiser titled ‘Reckless  Reality ‘by T Rahul. It has been rightly written on the cover page of the issue that , “The media like other vested interests in Jammu and Kashmir is showing the reality only through separatist lenses.” I would say the article is an eye opener. But what I failed to understand is that when this is happening why the Government is not taking any action. Is the Government deliberately not taking any action or is it incapable of taking any action.  After all country’s image and keeping the morale of the Police and the Army high is important. Failing which, wrong doctored news will spread in the whole world. It is high time the Government should not sit helplessly. It should take strong action against errant media, come what may happen.
