Under the project ‘Sapano Se Apano Tak’, an initiative by My Home India, 1,112 children have been reunited with their parents till June 2016

Nishant Kr Azad
“There is no dearth of good people in our country but such people need to take cognizance of the social issues and perform real social service instead of lip service” said Lok Sabha Speaker Smt Sumitra Mahajan in a programme ‘Sapano Se Apano Tak’ organised by My Home India on June 25 at New Delhi.
Smt Sumitra Mahajan who was the Chief Guest on the occassion further said, “Inert noble people are more dangerous than active evil people. If few evil doers get organised due to some vested interest then they can overpower far more number of unorganised inert good people. She said that people usually have a negative impression about all the people working in government sector but it is not so. They are also human beings and they also feel for human sufferings. Hence we all must come together and cooperate with each other for sake of such a noble cause.
On this occasion Minister of State Shri Manoj Sinha said that most of Children Homes in country are not well kept and it is widely known how children are treated there, we all hear stories about them. We have to make all the efforts to reunite children with their parents.
He also assured full cooperation from Indian Railways for this noble initiative.
Member of Parliament, BJP, Meenakshi Lekhi, was also present on the auspicious occasion. While addressing the gathering, she said that population explosion is also a factor contributing to this problem. We will have to create social campaigns to
create awareness about this problem. Citizens of the country will have to understand that our country has limited resources and uncontrolled population growth is stressing these resources already and children of our country have to rely upon these resources for their present as well as future. If a
family has many children, parents are unable to care for all their children, despite love for all of them. This makes the children feel neglected, causing them to run away from their families. Hence working on root causes of this problem alongside reunification of children already present in children homes all over the country, is also need of the hour. All of us, who are concerned citizens of country, need to take cognizance of such social evils and work on spreading awareness as well as contribute to projects like ‘Sapno Se Apno Tak’ in every possible way.
While addressing the gathering My Home India founder Shri Sunil Deodhar said, “Nobody has paid
attention to the most neglected area of social service in our country and if something gets neglected by the good souls then it gets trapped in hands of evil souls. Children are highly neglected lot today. It is high time that some kind of good initiative be taken for these children and the children inhabiting these children homes. During last two and half years, My Home India has reunited about 1,112 children with their parents. More than 600 children homes in the country are homes to approximately 1.5 lakh children. My Home India plans to reunite all those children with their families by 2020.
He also thanked media for spreading awareness about the project ‘Sapano Se Apano Tak’ and about the cause in general.
The organisation work is not limited to India only. Till date, 26 Nepali children and 5 Bangladeshi children have been handed over to their parents. The function was attended by many prominent personalities from different walks of life. KG Suresh, Director General, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Dr Lavlin Thadani, renowned film maker, poet, and social media activist,  were also present on the occasion.
