Education/Nursing: Make Future in Services

Nursing is such a field which always requires manpower. Especially young females have ample opportunities in this field. Apart from the doctors, nurses also play a significant role in the treatment of a patient. An experienced nurse while understanding the feelings and psychology of a patient takes care of them completely. Medicating the patient with instructed dosage, injecting medicines, a patient’s health and hygiene, all are seen and taken care of by a nurse under the guidance of a doctor.  Comparing with other countries, medical tourism is continuously rising in India. People from abroad come to India for medical treatment. This has facilitated great opportunities in nursing as a career. Apart from Doctors, many helping hands who have done other courses work in medical field. It includes lab technicians, X-ray technicians, radiologists, microbiologists, audiologists and speech therapists, nursing, operation theatre assistants, etc. Nursing is also the same kind of profession. Apart from human services, if one takes interest in medical field, Nursing can be a great career for young males and females.

Eligibility: ANM or Health Worker- One needs to have passed 10th compulsorily for this. The duration of the course is 18 months. General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)—One needs to pass 10+2 with a minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for this course. The duration of this course is three and a half years.
B Sc in Nursing (Basic): One needs to pass 10+2 with a minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for this course. The duration of this course is four years.
B Sc in Nursing (Post Basic): For this two years course, one needs to  pass10+2 with GNM degree. If one has GNM with 10+2 along with a work experience of minimum 2 years, one can get enrolled in this course in distance learning mode and complete it in 3 years.
M Sc in Nursing: To get a M Sc degree in nursing one should  pass B Sc in Nursing with a minimum 55% marks along with a work experience of minimum 1 year. The duration of the course is 2 years.
About the course: There are diploma, undergraduate and certificate courses on offer in the field of nursing. One can join post graduate course after passing an under graduation exam in nursing. One has the facility to opt for M.Phil and Ph. D as well in the field after post graduation. One can get enrolled by sitting in entrance exam.
Opportunities: There are ample opportunities abroad apart from the homeland. There is a high demand for Indian nurses in Gulf countries and Europe. Thousands of nurses from kerala are employed in these countries. British National Health Services recruit more than a thousand nurses annually.
Salary: Nurses working in the country’s nursing homes have a starting salary between 12 to 18 thousand. One can have a rise with the increasing experience. In foreign countries, the salaries are in their currency, which can be in lakhs of rupees in Indian currency.

Two decades before, very little amount of milk through Dairy used to enter in the market, but by judging the great profits many  persons invested in this field and made it big. Today Dairy sector is continuously rising. There is more than a thousand crore market of milk alone today in the country, and  other milk products such as butter, ghee, cheese have  much more. The demand for experts and professionals in this field is simultaneously rising with the expansion of the field. The experts associated with Dairy technology work for milk production, processing, packaging, storage, transport, distribution, etc.

Today new innovations and experiments are under going for increasing milk production in the field of Dairy. This has led to a continuous demand of experts in the field. Under this field, milk production and other milk products are taken up and their concerned storage, processing and distribution is linked up. People doing research in this field are called Dairy scientists or Dairy researchers. Seeing the rise in the Dairy sector, there is a great demand of experts in the field. There is an ample demand in both the government and private sectors.
Eligibility: Aspirants for Dairy Technology have to compulsorily pass 10+2 exams with minimum 55% marks in Science subjects.
Indira Gandhi National Open University offers Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) after 10th only.
About the Course: Dairy technology includes Dairy Engineering, Dairy Chemistry and Dairy Biotechnology. During the course, students are trained in milk production, Dairy development, Dairy equipment and utilities, milk processing and packaging, dairy products, insurance, dairy management and marketing. One can get a Diploma in Dairy Technology, B Sc in Dairy Technology, B Tech in Dairy Technology, M Tech in Dairy Technology, and M Sc in Dairy technology can be done.
Opportunities: There are ample opportunities in both private and public sector after finishing up the course. There are various job opportunities as a dairy technologist, supervisor, consultant, dairy engineer, dairy scientist, researcher, teaching, plant manager, etc. After having a work experience of 8-10 years, they  can start their business by taking loans under various government schemes. According to experts, by 2020, more than five lakhs jobs will be generated in this field.
Salary: Starting salary can be between 30-35 thousand. After gaining experience one can multiply multi fold.
