Odisha: RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat on February 24 addressed a gathering of Saints of Mahima sect at Denkanal in Odisha. The Dharma Sabha was organised by Dharma Jagaran Samiti at Mahima Dharma Pitha Joronda. Sadhu Raghunath Baba, President of Kaupini Dhari of Mahima Samaj and Sadhu Pabitra Baba, president of Balakal Dhari group in Mahima Samaj also addressed the Sabha, which was attended by about 400 Sadhus and about 2,500 general public. Two books Satya Sapaskyare and Atma Tatwa: Hamari Sanskriti written by Sadhu Kartik Das of Mahima Gadi were also released by Shri Bhagwat. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri V Bhagaiah, Kshetra Pracharak Shri Pradeep Joshi, Rashtriya Sewa Bharati Deputy General Secretary Shri Gurusharan Prasad and others were also present on the occasion. Former RSS Sarsanghachalak Late Shri KS Sudarshan had also visited this place about seven years back.n
Imposing tax on co-operatives is unjust : Sahakar Bharati
New Delhi: Sahakar Bharati, leading national organisation devoted to the cause of co-operative sector, appealed to the Union Government to withdraw the income tax imposed on the co-operative banks in the country. It demanded exemption from tax under Section 80(P) of the Income Tax Act. A high level delegation of Sahkar Bharati comprising of Chairman of Gujarat Urban Banks Federation and president of Sahkar Bharati Shri Jyotindra Mehta, general secretary Shri Uday Joshi, patron Shri Satish Marathey and president of Sahkar Bharati Delhi Shri Lakshmi Narayan Gupta made a strong presentation before a group of Ministers comprising of Minister of Power Piyush Goyal, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi demanding withdrawal of the income tax being levied on the cooperative banks.
Talking to Organiser Shri Mehta said since co-operatives are largely mutual societies they are subjected to soft tax laws all over the world. As per World Organisation of Co Op Credit Union, 67% countries in Asia, 62% in Africa, 81% in Latin America, 94% in Caribbean and 38% in Europe do not tax co-operatives. The RBI is also inclined to promote enrollment of depositors as shareholders and giving them representation on the Board of UCBs, he added.
Bharat will take back PoJK areas: Dr Swamy
Jammu:Speaking at a function organised in Delhi on February 22, the day Bharateeya Parliament adopted a unanimous resolution on Jammu and Kashmir in 1994, senior BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy hoped that Bharat would take back the Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) areas. The function was organised by Jammu Kashmir People’s Forum. The 1994 resolution had firmly stated that Bharat would not tolerate any attempt to interfere in its internal matters, and demanded that Pakistan should vacate the areas of Jammu-Kashmir that it has occupied through aggression. Many among the audience originally belonged to PoJK. BJP MP Shri Avinash Rai Khanna said the issue addressed in the resolution has to be solved. He applauded the efforts of some voluntary organisations in bringing the plight of the migrants of PoJK in forefront. President of Jammu Kashmir Study Centre Shri Jawaharlal Kaul reiterated that people would keep reminding the government until the government acts upon the Resolution.
Hindu Jagran Manch to expand up to Police Station level
Ghaziabad: Three-day meet of top functionaries of Hindu Jagran Manch from 38 states was organised in Ghaziabad from February 19 to 21. National convener Shri Ashok Prabhakar and co-convener Shri Kamleshji guided the workers. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya and Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Mangesh Bhende were also present.
Renowned choreographer, theaterist and spiritual guru Shri Goswami Sushilji Maharaj who was chief guest at the inaugural session, underlined the need to awaken the Hindu society from the deep slumber. He took exception to the failure of Bharat to evolve a common population policy for its people to be followed by all irrespective of religion.
Dr Manmohan Vaidya guided the functionaries how to best use various means of media to reach out to the masses. He told those active in social media never to forward or share something whose veracity has not been verified by independent sources. He also cautioned against being swept away by emotions while expressing views before newsmen and asked everybody to be close to logic. Shri Mangesh Bhende said the Sangh was not formed to ‘fight’ with the Muslims or Christians but reform the Hindu society from within. The Manch decided to expand the organisational work up to Police Station level in coming five years. At present about one-third of Police Stations are covered by it.

Mahamaham Conference at Kumbakonam
Kumbakonam: Around 1,000 spiritual gurus congregated at Mahamaham Conference organised during Dakshin Bharat Kumbh Mela at Vittal Rukmini Samasthanam, Kumbakonam. Inaugurating the Conference Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said the spiritual leaders can save the nation’s heritage and culture. Ambalavana Desiga Paramacharya Swamigal of Thiruvavaduthurai Mutt presided over the Conference. Shri Rama Gopalan of Hindu Munnani also spoke. VHP general secretary Shri Champat Rai said Bharat leads the world spiritually. It is the duty of the saints to create awareness among society and protect the nation culturally. Kumbmela concluded with lakhs of pilgrims having a holy dip in Mahamaham at Kumbakonam. VHP volunteers served the pilgrims during the Kumbha. VHP Tamil Nadu also organised a three-day Sant Sammelan.
Congressmen welcomed at Sangh Karyalaya
Indore: Sometimes things take interesting turn. Congress workers in Indore organised a march towards the RSS office on February 22 insisting at hoisting tricolor there. As the march, headed by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee chief Arun Yadav and other Congress workers began, the police stopped them in midway fearing clash between the RSS and Congress workers. But what happened at Sangh Karyalaya stunned all. As the Congress workers reached there the swayamsewaks welcomed them by putting tilak on their forehead and later on accompanied them to hoist the national flag at the Karyalaya.
After hoisting the flag, veteran Sangh leader Shri Prakash and Shri Solapurkar, welcomed the Congress workers.
Bharat needs chemical-free farming: Vasundhara Raje Rajasthan: Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje stressed the need to make farming totally chemical free to curb various diseases which are taking fatal forms all over the country. She was addressing the farmers after inaugurating an exhibition organised by Bharatiya Kisan Sangh as part of the national convention in Jaipur on February 18. The Chief Minister also stressed the need of water conservation. Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel apprised the farmers of the schemes being run by the State government. National president of Kisan Sangh Shri Anna Saheb Murkute said GM seeds are harmful. He said over 20 farmers are members of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and they are committed the organisation at village level also.
Addressing the farmers on February 20 noted economist and RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt said the income in farming is reducing which is leading to some farmer even to commit suicide, which must be arrested. Kisan Sangh national treasurer Shri Jugal Kishore Mishra stressed the need that subsidy should directly go to the bank accounts of the farmers. The farmers participating in the convention said they would not allow GM seeds in the country at all and they would go to any extent to stop it.

Swaymasevaks clean temple premises ahead of Shivaratri
Tamil Nadu: Ahead of Shivaratri, a team of 142 people including 70 RSS and Sewa Bharati workers from local Tambaram unit in Tamil Nadu actively participated in the cleaning of Jambukeswarar Temple on February 21. The common public and devotees too eagerly joined hands with the swayamsevaks in the activity. Tambaram Bagh Sewa Pramukh Shri Soundarji coordinated the activity.
Protect cow to save the nation: Shankarlal
Jodhpur: RSS Akhil Bharatiya Gausewa Pramukh Shri Shankarlal appealed to the government and the society to take all possible efforts to protect the cows and her progeny as they are the backbone of the Bharat’s economy. Addressing a function in Jodhpur on February 21 he said preservation of the cow is in the interests of all and if ignored it will prove to be very costly to all. The function was organised by Go Vigyan Anusandhan Samiti. Shri Navranglal Sharma on this occasion apprised the gathering of 18 scientific facts about the cow milk. He also stressed on organic farming. Shri Otaram Devasi, Cow Minister in Rajasthan Government stressed the need to create cow ministries all over the country. He said the cows truly be preserved at the home of the farmers and not in the goushalas. Mahamandaleshwar Shri Dati Maharaj Madanji also spoke on the occasion.n
Tagging terror with RSS is a conspiracy: Indreshji
Jammu: Maintaining that justice to all and appeasement to none is the hall mark RSS work, RSS national executive member Shri Indresh Kumar said though God made religion for everyone, there were some people who are damaging it by making people convert and tagging terror with the BJP and RSS. Addressing a function organised by Muslim Rashtriya Manch(MRM) in Jammu he said certain vested interests misguide and mislead Muslim youth thereby trying to bring a bad name to the community.
He said besides, religious teachings, Muslim community needs proper education so that they can earn their livelihood, overcome poverty, hunger and become self reliant. Keeping this motto in view the RSS and BJP have launched various programmes for the uplift of Muslim community. He said these steps were taken to save the people of Muslim community from appeasement policies of some political parties, due to which the condition of the community has become worst, especially during last some years. MRM State president Nazir Ahmad Mir, former Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh, former Transport Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli, organising secretary Gulshan Kumar were also present.

As an exemplary model of interfaith tolerance, the Benedictine University in Lisle, a Catholic university in the US, holds aarti (prayer) at its campus every week. The University facilitates its Hindu students to perform aarti at its Kindlon Hall on every Thursday at 12:30 pm. Commending the initiative by the University, president of Universal Society of Hinduism Shri Rajan Zed described it as a step in positive direction. He thanked Benedictine for recognising the intersection of spirituality and education, which is important in Hinduism.
