Sahakarita Ratna, the most prestigious award in Bharat’s cooperative sector, was presented to Satish Marathe, president of Sahakar Bharati for his outstanding academic leadership and contribution towards the cooperative sector in recent years. The award was presented in New Delhi on November 21 on the occasion of 28th Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial IFFCO Lecture. The award consists of a cheque of Rs 5 lakh, a shawl and memento.
Shri Marathe expressed his humility saying that, “I am humbled as I take this award on behalf of all the workers of Sahakar Bharati”. Sahakar Bharati has been working for years to create a network of cooperatives and cooperators. On this day, I remember the great man from Satara Shri Inamdar who motivated us to set up Sahakar Bharati, he said. “I would like to appeal to all the cooperators to rise above narrow considerations and work for the success of the movement”, he said. The Award is conferred on individual eminent cooperators who have rendered selfless service in the furtherance and development of the cooperative movement.

Kavi Sammelan by Rashtriya Kavi Sangam
Rashtriya Kavi Sangam organised a Kavi Sammelan in New Delhi on November 15 to motivate the youth poets. The Sammelan titled as ‘Dastak Nayi Peedhi Ki’ provided a platform to the budding young poets of the country. The poets who attended the Sammelan included Shri Manoj Shukla from Chhattisgarh, Shri Ashish Soni from Jabalpur, Shri Pushpendra Joshi from Ujjain, Shri Dinesh Gupta from Patiala, Shri Meghshyam from Rajasthan, Shri Nikunj Sharma from Brijghat, Anamika Walia from Ambala, Bhoomika Jain from Agra, Yunus Siddique and Arvind Chandravanshi from Delhi.
The Sammelan, which was organised on the birthday of national president of the organisation Shri Jagdish Mittal, was addressed by leading poet of Madhya Pradesh and former Minister Shri Satyanarayan Sattan. He criticised the growing commercial mentality among the poets. He called upon the poets to stay away from wrong practices. Chairman of Agrawal Packers and Movers Shri Ramesh Agrawal, Chancellor of Maharaja Agrasen University Dr Nandkishore Garg, chairman of Vandana Group Shri Chaturbhuj Agrawal, Chairman of Mapesko Builders Shri Amritlal Singla, Smt Nirmala and Shri SS Agrawal were also present on the occasion. Shri Sumit Mishra was felicitated with Jagdish Mittal Yuva Puraskar on the occasion.
Bharateeya culture believes in taking everyone together

“Emotional integration of people is a very important factor for the country like Bharat. Many say ours is a Hindu culture, while some say it is Bharateeya culture. Whatever it may be, the basic concept of running the country lies in the fact of emotional integration of the people,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat on December 2, while speaking at a function organised in Kolkata to pay tribute to Ram and Sharad Kothari who sacrificed their lives during Ayodhya movement.
Shri Bhagwat said the Somnath Temple was attacked again and again. Attacks were also carried out on the twin towers in the US. But the sole intention of those who carried out those attacks was to hurt the sentiments and pride of a nation. I am not talking about ISI, but against such forces whose sole intention is to hurt the sentiment and pride of several nations and their civilisation. This cannot be tolerated, he said. Comparing those forces which mastermind such attacks with Ravana, he added that evil forces could not last long and history taught us that such forces can not run any country. He hoped that the goal of Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be realised in our life time. Tripura Governor Shri Tathagata Roy compared Ram and Sharad with martyrs Khudiram Bose, Kanailal Dutta and Charu Basu. “They laid down their lives for their principles in life and not for any hope of getting an award by the almighty in their next lives,” he said.
Siddhinath Singh new president of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati
Shri Siddhinath Singh, Bihar Kshetra Sanghachalak of RSS and an engineer by education, is the new national president of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati. He replaced Shri Suryaprakash Tonk, who completed his term as president. Shri Tonk will continue to devote his time for Rashtriya Sewa Bharati as a Trustee. The election to new office bearers took place in Kanyakumari on November 30. All senior office bearers were present at the meeting. Apart from it, Shri Yashpal Gupta was appointed new Treasurer. He replaced Shri KL Mallya whose term also ended. Shri Yashpal Gupta is Sah Zilla Sanghachalak of RSS in East Delhi. Shri KL Mallya will also continue to devote his time for Rashtriya Sewa Bharati as a Trustee.
Yuvati Sammelan by Rashtra Sevika Samiti
Rashtra Sevika Samiti organised a Yuvati Sammelan at Chintamani in Bengaluru on November 29. About 115 girls participated in the Sammelan, which was addressed by Karnataka Dakshina Prant Karyavaahika Aruna Thakhar. A session on ‘Tejomaya Bharat’ was addressed by Parimala Murthy, Samparka Pramukh of Bengaluru. It was followed by discussion on “Hum Bane Bharat Bhagya Vidhata”. Chief guest Smt Roopashri Chintamani spoke about women empowerment and awareness. She stressed on the change first within ourselves. She emphasised on practicing ‘Swachcha-Bharat’ first at individual level. Sushri Sudha Murthy, Sanchalika of Karnataka Dakshina, urged everyone to take an active role in the society and attended the shakha regularly. More than 50 per cent of the participation was from surrounding districts and villages.
