The findings of Anti-Naxal Operation (ANO) Maharashtra Cell reveal that the ultra-Leftists and Naxals have taken a sinister Orwellian turn.
“A revolution is not a dinner party…”, thus professed Mao Zedong, the cult figure of our ultra-Leftists and revolutionaries. Now it seems the guerrilla stocks of our country, who are on their persistent war against the democracy and the very idea of our nation, have appended this Mao’s jingle to their own version which has been evolved over their years-long experiments with revolutionising Bharat. The contradictions and paradoxes which arise out of the wicked implementation of their errant ideology are coming to the fore after the scandalous disclosure by Anti-Naxal Operation (ANO) cell of Maharashtra.
According to a press note issued by ANO Maharashtra, while the children from the Naxal affected areas are denied basic education, the elite Naxals, who are at the helm of this anti-national movement, are enrolling their children in prestigious educational institutions for higher studies. The crucial findings of ANO further reveal that some of their children have ‘devoted’ their lives to the ‘service’ of corporate sector by decorating prestigious posts in Multinational Companies. Significantly the press note also exposed that some Naxals are indulged in diverting party funds for the benefit of their families and kin.
The ANO, through the press note, released the names and details of those ‘reactionary leaders’ which highlight the big gap between preaching and practices of the proponent of this utopian—fundamentally inhuman—ideology. A Naxal cadre Devkumar Singh aka Arvind Nishant, who has been mainly employed to distribute pamphlets and party literature, sent his son to IIT Kanpur for higher studies. His son is pursuing Chemical Engineering there. Snehlata, daughter of company commander Mallerajji Reddy alias Gopanna, is now studying Law in a prestigious university after completing a graduation course in science. Son of Vijay Reddy, a Naxal leader, after completing his BTech, is now working with a top private company in Telangana State on a high package of salary. His younger son is a BTech student. The list is endless.
The arrest of Naxal KK Murlidharan created a storm in Kerala. His sympathisers, cutting across the hardcore- softcore ideological divisions, come forward and spearheaded an intellectual war against the Government over the intellectuals. It is now revealed that his son, Nachiketan, is a software engineer at Kochi in Kerala. Dandakaranya's former Naxal leader Gudsa Usendi's daughter Sneha too is employee of IT Company drawing an annual salary of 5 lakh after completing her BTech. Interestingly, the press note shares a ‘radical dream’ of a CPI (Maoist) functionary, Marbecha Yasabu that she wants to see her as a doctor.
Besides that, several other ‘young Naxals’ are pursuing their higher education in overseas including the USA.According to the Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli, Sandip Patil, one of the members of the ongoing mass movement in the district has ensured that his son is getting educated in the United States of America.
As stated by the report of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), there are 20,000 armed cadres along with 50,000 regular cadres are active in the country. Majority of them are hailing from tribal areas. These militants are slowly expanding their base in rural areas of our country. They are currently highly active in instigating armed violence in the states like Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal etc.
While urban Naxal progenies are being sent to the eminent national and international institutions, to reinforce their martial force further, they are recruiting under-aged tribal children from deprived families. They have reportedly recruited around 4,000 children early this year. According to the United States’ government entitled Trafficking in Persons Report-2015, “children are forcibly removed from their families and used by Maoists in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Odisha to act as spies and couriers, plant improvised explosive devices and fight against the government.” The stories of atrocities against policemen and villagers and human right violation by Naxals and Maoists have already been brought to the public attention several years back.
The child-recruitment drive is reportedly still going on in all Naxal-affected states like Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand. While the age of boys is as low as 10 years, the average age of girls is 14-15 years. Being at such a gullible age, they are undoubtedly vulnerable to indoctrination by senior leaders. As per the reports, these children are now engaged in armed conflicts against the nation. They are allegedly used as human shield in conflict zones. The girls were also being used for cooking and other manual works for the senior cadres. Experts opine that the Children who understand the futility of joining the rebels continue to pursue their avocation, while those who get carried away by the Maoists leave their studies and enter the jungles to fight alongside their elder colleagues.
Seeing the irony of anti-establishment, revolutionary Naxals are bringing up their own children as new generation bourgeoisie—their own class enemies seeking safe zones for their owns families under the capitalist establishments, their sympathisers are now appeared to have gone into exile to evade this answerless riddle. Those who have pledged to abolish class divisions are now apparently deteriorated into the same deplorable mindset which leads some corrupt mainstream politicians. Their seemingly idealistic view of public and private life now ended up into a farce.
On one hand, they are carrying out a full swing campaign and war against the public-private aided education to poor tribal children in their citadels and recruiting children into their movement by denying them all fundamental rights and leaving them in penury and misery in perpetuity. On the other, the elite leadership, who are remote controlling the revolution, is seen obsessed with their family and is keen to ensure better quality higher education and a luxurious life to their children.
Naxal leaders, like Islamic terrorists, are always afraid of providing education to the youth and children. In this regard, their modus operandi is more or less similar to that of the Taliban active in Swat Valley of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The government agencies and the NGOs that are pursuing their work in national interest should join hand-to-hand and make the villagers of those areas aware of this hideous agenda. Unfortunately our mainstream media have paid scant attention to this revelation which could have made a positive impact and triggered a constructive debate in the light of new evidence could tear apart the veil of hypocrisy of these so-called ‘people’s leaders’.
The sympathisers of these anti-nationals in guise of literary figures and intelligentsia cannot wash their hands without addressing this double standard. As we see, since its very inception was in 1967, this militant movement is now led by fourth generation leaders. Evidently they are now cognisant of the emptiness of this bloody ideology. So the revolution now succumbed to reaction. If an iota of integrity or intellectual honesty is still left, these revolutionary stalwarts should penalise themselves under the same rule they invoke against an apostate or class enemy.
