Recently people protested for banning the sale of meat in Mumbai due to the auspicious holy dates of Jain Community, which fell on those dates, which was unfortunate and absurd. BJP led Maharastra Government brought in force Anti-Cow slaughter Bill, which was appreciable, but indulging in an order which completely bans sale of meat can be objectionable. One thing I wish to make it very much clear that it would be improper to equate cow slaughter with the slaughter of other animals. I would say people lack in knowing the real essence and facts about importance of cow compared to other animals and why human beings have to protect it in particular. The Jain Community blindly have gone as per their religion saying that the life of no living beings should be terminated and thus have been influencing the respective governments both at State and Central level. This is totally absurd, impractical and meaningless. We should not forget that non vegetarian food has been associated along with the human beings since the begining of civilisation. Citing an example, I wish to inform everybody that, when Justice Dr.M Rama Jois was the Rajya Sabha Member many people argued with him that non-vegetarian food is a fact of human life and why an exception has to be made for cow and its progeny. Justifying his statement Justice Jois said that the excreta of all living beings, including human beings is reject able, where as only the excreta of cow is adorable and considered as fit to be used. Is this not an exception? And the same message Dr M Rama Jois has conveyed in his forward message in the book Say No To Beef, authored and published by me.

‘For Duty, not for Love, nor Hate, nor Gain’
(Organiser, 4.10.15);This is with reference to the review of the book Fundamental Duties by Justice R C Lahoti, done by Ganesh Krishnan R in Organiser. Fundamental Duties of citizen with reference to Article 51-A of the Constitution of Bharat, specially the sixth duty i.e, “ To value and preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture” has been discussed. Since the Congress Party had contempt for Bharateeya or Hindu culture , the word composite was specially put, to appease the Muslims. Again , at the end of the fifth duty it is mentioned , that “ to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women”. Of course, it is the duty of every citizen, to protect the dignity of woman but it does not mean that the government should shut its eyes, if some one ignores these duties, and indulges in derogatory practices. During all these 65 years , the Congress government has been promoting western culture , with complete disregard for Bharateeya culture and values in every sphere of national life. This has degenerated our society.

Bill to Save cow
The Americans have a strong sentiment favouring the horse just as the Hindus have it for the cow. Nobody eats the horse meat. Some states like California and Illinois have had laws banning horse-slaughter. Still till 2007, there were three abattoirs in the US that killed horses for the sole purpose of exporting their meat to the only two European countries, viz., France and Belgium where horse meat is relished. After the general public of America came to know about this fact, there was so much hue and cry that those three abattoirs had to be closed down. In January 2014, US president Barack Obama signed a Bill passed by both Houses of the Congress bringing into existence for the first time, a federal legislation banning horse-slaughter. This has immensely pleased the American sentiment. The Government of Bharat must try passing such a Bill to save the cow.

Selective Amnesia
The Congressmen seems to be suffering from selective amnesia. While accusing the NDA government of not doing enough in the Lalitgate matter, they have conveniently forgotten what their own government had done when the Interpol had sounded a Red Corner alert against the international criminal Ottavio Quattrochi. After arresting him in Buenos Iris, the Argentine government had expressed their readiness to extradite Quattrochi to Bharat to stand trial in the Bofors case. But the then UPA government deliberately went slow in the matter so as to allow the mandatory time limit to lapse for the extradition proceedings to take effect. The Argentine authorities were then left with no option but to set free the Italian criminal. ARUN MALANKAR
