“We normally say “Jehan huye Balidan Mookerjee, voh Kashmir Hamara hai”. Now I add into—“Jehan huye Dr Mookerjee voh Bengal bhi Hamara hai”. It is our collective responsibility to make Bengal of the dreams of that great personality. Many of us may not have seen him, but we are influenced with his views and personality. He sacrificed his life for integrity of the country. Whatever he did had a value. It is good that the country has today moved forward on his ideals,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi while releasing a book on Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee in Kolkata on August 12.
BJP president Amit Shah and Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Dr Nirmal Singh were also present on the occasion. The book, “Pledge for an Integrated India: Dr. Mookerjee in Throes of Jammu and Kashmir 1951 to 1953” has been edited by DeveshKhandelwal and has been published by Prabhat Prakashan, Delhi.
Shri Amit Shah said the book would help in portraying true image of Dr Mookerjee who quit the post of a Cabinet Minister for principles.

Chit Fund Money reaching Local Terrorists
The terrorist activities in West Bengal were being funded by incriminated Chit Fund companies of the State and it is alleged that the whole operation was being monitored by some influential people of the State. This has come to light while the National Investigating Agency (NIA) has started investigation of Khagragarh blast incident, which took place a year ago. Without quoting specific name, the NIA had said that one minister and a Member of Parliament belonging to TMC are involved in the matter. It had further mentioned that through the actors and actresses of Tollywood the chit fund money was being transmitted to the hands of terrorists. It had been further reported that apart from Sardha Chit Fund Company two other chit fund companies were also involved in this matter.
To chalk out the plan for transmitting chit fund money from Bangladesh to West Bengal, a meeting was convened at Salt Lake 5-Star Hotel. The meeting was reportedly organised by a Rajya Sabha Member elected on TMC ticket. The meeting was attended by another TMC MP and one renowned actress of Bengali film. Apart from them Rezaul Karim, who is financial controller of Jamaat-ul-Mujaheedin, Bangladesh (JMB) was also present.
IG of NIA Sanjib Singh said the investigation is in progress. “We have already received many important documents and more documents are on the way .The work of checking the documents is going on,” he said. He further mentioned that the said meeting at Salt Lake’s 5-Star Hotel took place on August 25, 2011. Two luxurious suites of the hotel were booked in the name of a executive of non-Banking Finance Company. Apart from this meeting, another meeting with JMB leaders took place in a Guest House of Barddhaman booked by the same group of persons. In this meeting also two State ministers and a ruling party MP had taken part.
NIA sleuths had arrested one Shahnur Alam from Goalpara District. Shahnur was known to be a ‘linkman’ of JMB. He admitted that he came to know the name of Rezaul Karim while they started the work with the same goal to be achieved. But fact remains that he had never met him physically. On the other hand, the Home Ministry of Bangladesh had submitted a list of 51 terrorists to the Government of India. It was detected in that list that the 6th name is of Rezaul Karim.
NIA officials have further informed that during that period few actor and actresses from West Bengal went there to shoot some advertisement films. They visited Bangladesh on Tourist Visa. These actors and actresses had earned fabulous amount of money by way of remuneration for the work. It is further reported that the above mentioned artistes had no work permit, generally required for this type of work. Curiously enough, the NIA sleuths even after long and rigorous investigation could not find the existence of those companies.           Asim Kumar Mitra
