Reports: Rashtra Raksha Sangam in Kanpur

“The work of RSS is to unite the Hindu society and make it fearless, self-reliant and selfless, and the one which is ready to live and die for the country. It has to be brought into practice. What is the meaning of RSS shakha? We come together and forget everything else. Only Bhagwa Dhwaj (saffron flag) is in front of us and that is the symbol of pride,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while addressing the Rashtra Raksha Sangam at the Railway Station Maidan in Kanpur on February 15. Dr Ishwarchandra Gupt, Shri Virendra Prakramditya and Shri Arjun Das Khatri also shared the dais.
“Often the word ‘show of strength’ crops up. When we organise such programmes, it is said that these are show of strength by the RSS. Those who do not have strength need to show it. We don’t need to do that. We have our own strength. RSS moves ahead on the basis of its own strength.
It is our atma darshan. In history, we were not behind anyone, but a handful of people made us slaves. In the last meeting of the Constituent Assembly, Dr BR Ambedkar had said that the country was not lagging behind in anything, but due to selfishness some people gifted it to the Britishers on a silver platter and unless we practice brotherhood the threat will continue,” Shri Bhagwat said. He further said that there is so much diversity in the country but irrespective of caste, language or regional differences we all consider Bharat as our mother.

Thakur Ram Singhji was a ‘Veervrati’: Indresh Kumar

Birth centenary celebration of veteran Sangh Pracharak the
late Thakur Ram Singh was celebrated at Neri under Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on February 15. The birth centenary celebration committee decided to organise similar functions in other parts of the country including Punjab, Assam and Himachal Pradesh.

Birth Centenary of Thakur Ram Singh

Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar, Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Assembly Prof PK Dhumal and chief guest Shri Dilip Kumar Sarkar.
Shri Indresh Kumar said the community, which forgets its history cannot have a bright future. He said some foreign forces are working for a long time to change the identity of Bharat and the need of the hour is that all these forces are detected and challenged. Describing Thakur Ram Singh as a ‘Veervrati’ who fought for restoring real history of the country. he said it is highly unfortunate that wrong and misleading history is being taught in schools and colleges. The real tribute to Thakur Ram Singhji will be that history of India should be rewritten.
Prof. Dhumal said many people write the history but Thakur Ram Singhji created the History. Shri Dhumal also inaugurated Thakur Ram Singh museum on the occasion.
