Three-day Swadeshi Sangam in Jaipur

No to FDI, time to use Swadeshi products?

The Swadeshi Sangam organised in Jaipur by Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) from October 10 to 12 has appealed to the countrymen to unitedly oppose the anit-people policies of globalisation and use only Swadeshi products in their daily life. The Swadeshi thinkers assembled at the Sangam termed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as dangerous for the nation and appealed to the government to specifically refrain FDI in Agriculture, Trade, Commerce, Insurance, Defence and the service sectors. They stressed on the need for cultural, technological and economic nationalism to protect the country from all such dangers.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajasthan Governor, Shri Kalyan Singh said, poverty would not be eradicated just by shouting slogan rather it needs concrete and honest steps. Thousands of Swadeshi thinkers and activists representing various organisations attended the three day Sangam. Swadeshi thinker Shri Devendra Sharma, Agriculture Minister of Rajasthan; Prabhulal Saini, SJM; national convener Shri Arun Ojha; national organising secretary, Shri Kashmirilal were also present. The Sangam unanimously adopted a Declaration on the last day and stressed the need for inclusive approach for development.
Convener of the Sangam, Prof Bhagwati Prakash Sharma said the grip of multi-national companies is getting stronger on our commerce, business, industries, agriculture. The production of ice cream to boot polish and from electronic items to power plants are dominating the other sectors. Not only this, they are also dominating in our kitchens and farms. Despite disastrous effects of GM crops, their trials are being permitted. Shri Kashmirilal expressed concern over the permission for the foreign seeds in the country. National president of Traders organisation, Shri Shyam Bihari Mishra said “A major part of our earning is going to the foreign countries.” n?


Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan by Sanskar Bharati?

Kavya Kaumudi, the Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan, organised by Sanskar Bharati at Central Park, Connaught Place in New Delhi on October 12 thrilled the audience. Leading poets of the country tried to connect with the audience through their poems and songs and portray the rich culture and literature of the country.
In the beginning, Shri Manvir Madhur dedicated his poem to the martyrs and patriots, which received huge applauses from the audience. Padma Bhushan Neeraj Ji stressed the need to develop human values. His poem—‘Ab to majhab bhi koi aisa chalaya jaye jismen insan ko insan banaya jaye…’ was received perfectly. Noted poet Dr Kunwar Bechain through his songs and ghazals developed positivity among the audience.
Shri Ramesh Upadhyaya ‘Bansuri’ from Rajasthan forced the audience to extend him standing ovation. Young poet Shri Charanjit Charan dedicated his song to Bhagat Singh. Poet Shri Munavvar Rana exhorted the people to respect the elders. Dr Vishnu Saxena’s song on ‘prem’ was also received well.
Shri Gajendra Solanki, who conducted the proceedings, remembered those who sacrificed themselves for the freedom. He said “We may celebrate any festival or victory but we should not forget the martyrs.” Sushri Sita Sagar dedicated her poem to brother-sister relationship. The Kavi Sammelan, which lasted for five hours, concluded with the poems of noted poet Surendra Sharma.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Swami Gyanananda Maharaj, RSS National Executive member Shri Indresh Kumar, former Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice RC Lahoti, Shri Roshanlal Gorakhapuria, Smt Kiran Chopra, former Mayor of Delhi Shri Mahesh Chandra Sharma and many more.
Dr Kunwar Bechain was felicitated with Gopalkrishan Arora Samman, while Dr Ramesh Upadhyaya was honoured with Shri Guruji Samman on the occasion.
