World The Week :Lanka Hindus Appeal PMModi For Hindu Buddhist Unity
Hindus of Sri Lanka want peaceful coexistence with Buddhists. This sentiment found expression in a rally organised in Jaffna, Sri Lanka recently. Participants in the rally appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to facilitate Hindu Buddhist unity and to look into the matter of conversion by coercion.
Yoga Raja Dushyantan, one of the organisers, said “Narendra Modi has projected himself as a Hindu. That is why we look forward for leadership and guidance from him on this issue.”
The programme was jointly organised by Indo-Lanka Hindu People Friendship Association and Hindu Religious Federation.
