Rakesh Kumar of Seema Jagaran Manch dies in an accident

$img_titleSenior Pracharak and national organising secretary of the Seema Jagaran Manch, Rakesh Kumar died in a road accident at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan on June 12. He was travelling from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur along with Seema Jankalyan Samiti’s Bheek Singh. Unfortunately, Bheek Singh also met with serious injuries and was later declared dead. The cremation was held at his ancestral village Mandi Ahmedgarh in Ludhiana on June 13. Earlier, his dead body was taken to Ludhiana by road where many people paid their tribute to the departed soul.
Senior Pracharak Shri Ashok Prabhakar and State organising secretary Shri Nem Singh were also in the same car. Nem Singh got also injuries but he is out of danger, while Shri Prabhakarji is all right.
Born in 1955 at Ludhiana, Punjab, Rakeshji had deep insights on border issues. He became a Sangh Pracharak during the Emergency. He earlier served as Prant Pracharak of Jammu & Kashmir. Recently, he was given the responsibility of Seema Jagaran Manch, which is an RSS initiative on border related awareness. Rakeshji was the backbone of the concept of ‘Sarhad ko Pranam’, a unique event in which massive awareness is created about India’s national borders.

Learn from RSS how to be a good worker—Acharya Mahashraman?

$img_titleApplauding the discipline and management skills of the RSS swayamsevaks, leading Jain saint of Terapanth Sect Acharya Shri Mahashraman said anyone wishing to be a good worker should learn this art from the Sangh swayamsevaks. Addressing a joint meeting of RSS workers and Terapanth activists, he said the RSS has long relation with the Sect and Acharya Shri Mahasiddhaji and former RSS chief Shri Sudarshanji enjoyed close relations. He said the present RSS chief Shri Mohan Bhagwat has maintained that closeness. The Sangh swayamsevaks accorded rousing welcome to the leading saint at Keshav Kunj, Delhi. The Jain saint gave seven sutras or formulas to the workers. First is sewa or the feeling to work for others selflessly. Second is tolerance or the strength to face challenges. Third is the feeling of friendship and avoiding irritation. Fourth formula is honesty and transparency in financial matters. The fifth is skill development. Sixth is wisdom and seventh is discipline. Welcoming the Jain saint, RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt said this visit has energised the Sangh workers to work with renewed vigour.

RSS Pracharak wins the legal battle against Aranmula Airport?

$img_titleRSS Pracharak and general secretary of Hindu Ekya Vedi Shri Kummanam Rajsekharan won the legal battle against controversial Aranmula Airport in Kerala when the southern unit of the National Green Tribunal quashed the permission to international airport project on May 29. Permission to Rs 2,000 crore project at Pathanamthitta district was granted by the Union Environment and Forest Ministry in November last year ignoring the local protest. Shri Kummanam was fighting for the preservation of ecology and cultural heritage of Aranmula Village .
This victory underlines the fact that a private airport project does not come under the ‘public purpose’ category. It stands to benefit only a minority. Also, the necessity for an airport at Aranmula, when Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi Airports are nearby stands unwarranted. The hands that have played behind the evil scheme and design of the airport must remember that wetlands belong to the people, serving a public purpose. Government must never stoop so low to sacrifice this public property for appeasing the vested interests of a specific few.
