Consequent to the arrest of Sakir Hussain, suspected ISI agent two days back, two bomb blasts took place in Guwahati-Bangalore express train in early hours of May 1. The blasts, occurred in S4-S5 coaches while the train entering the platform, were triggered by a mobile device. Swati, an IT employee of Guntur, was killed while 15 others injured severely. The alleged terrorist was hiding in the toilet and was arrested. A CBCID probe has been ordered.

Hearing the news, around 30 Sangh workers from Sowcarpet and Triplicane immediately rushed to the station with relief material. The police took control of the situation with sniffer dogs, forensic experts and bomb disposal squads. BJP Tamil Nadu state president Pon Radhakrishnan strongly condemned the Government for soft approach in dealing terrorists. He along with Vanathi Srinivasan, state secretary, also visited the hospital. Hindu Munnani activists protested in all districts of the state against the incident. Hundreds of Hindu Munnani volunteers were arrested during the protest. Hindu Munnani has time and again been warning the Government of the dangers and movements of terrorists in the state.
