“We women should learn and maintain a balance between our personal and professional lives. If we, for our ambitions, go against our families or traditions, either the woman or the family breaks down into pieces. ‘Chetna’ is definitely different from other women empowerment movements. It helps in making us learn four important things—education, self-defence, monetrial power and political empowerment, said Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Smt. Sushma Swaraj, while speaking at second annual function of Chetna-Conscience of Women, in Delhi on February 22.
Smt Swaraj said ‘Chetna’ perfectly talks about naari shakti rather then naari mukti and it might be just of two years old but it knows how to walk on its own. Chetna was formed by a group of women engaged in different professions to serve the society with focus on women empowerment, discussing their contemporary problems and challenges. It began on February 25, 2012.
Organising secretary of Bharatiya Stree Shakti Dr Nirmala Apte, president of Chetna Dr Indu Arneja, director of MP Public School, Gurgaon, Smt Neelam Gupta, Smt Pushpa Chaudhary of Arya Kanya Gurukul, dancer and founder of Sarvan Foundation Neha Bhatnagar and Dr Rama Jayasundar from AIIMS were also present on the occasion. Website of Chetna was also launched by Smt Sushma Swaraj followed by a demo of self-defence, achievers award and distribution of certificates for spoken English classes.

Bharat Parikrama Yatra enters Uttarakhand
Bharat Parikrama Yatra by former Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh of RSS Shri Sitaram Kedilaya entered Uttarakhand in the morning of February 26 on its non-stop 567 th day. The Yatra entered the state from Himachal Pradesh near Paonta Sahib. On January 13, the Yatra had entered Himachal Pradesh and travelled across the villages creating awareness about conservation of water, ecology and rural Indian values in village life.
In Uttarakhand, the Yatra was received by Kshetra Sewa Pramukh Shri Gangaram. Swami Premanand of Sadhna Ashram, Uttarakhand Prant Karyavah Shri Laxmiprasad Jaiswal, Zilla Sanghachalak and Zilla Pracharak and more than 50 local distinguished people were also present on the occasion. Himachal Pradesh Prant Pracharak Shri Banvir and Prant Sewa Pramukh Shri Baldev were also present to formally see off the Yatra. Shri Baldev handed over dhwaj of the Yatra to Shri Gangaram as a token of handing over the Yatra to the Prant. On first day Shri Kedilaya stayed at night at Dhalipur village and on second day i.e February 27 he stayed in Dakpatthar.
During the tour of Uttarakhand Shri Kedilaya will visit Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and many other places. He will stay at Sadhana Ashram near Vikasnagar from February 28 to March 28. He will continue the Yatra from March 29 onwards and will travel across Uttarakhand till July last week.

Shaikshik Mahasangh to strengthen women participation in organisational activities
Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh has decided to strengthen the participation of women at all levels of the organisation and also its activities till the grass roots level. The decision to this effect was taken at the organisation’s national executive meeting organised in Kanyakumari from February 1 to 2. A total of 70 delegates from 15 states attended the meeting. The Mahasangh has also decided to create a data bank of the educationists through its website. The educationists have been provided a link at the website where they can upload their profiles.
During the academic session of 2014-15, at least one woman would be invited in the national executive from all states. Similar arrangements are being made at the state level also. The women would be encouraged to conduct separate activities involving more women. Apart from all these activities, the organisation has also decided to strengthen the traditional eternal values of life. Sushri Nivedita Bhide, vice president of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, spoke on this topic at a session. This campaign will be conducted this year up to the district level.

Jammu -Kashmir People’s Forum and Anuvrat Anusasta Samitiorganised a symposiumon February 23 to commemorate the Parliament’s unanimous resolution to take back Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Speaking at the symposium, VHP central secretary Dr Surendra Jain said 20 years ago on February 22, 1994 a unanimous resolution was passed by both Houses of the Parliament to get back Pakistan occupied regions of Jammu-Kashmir, but nothing has yet been done in this matter. Why the Government of Bharat has kept num on the issue and why not the Kashmiri displaced got rehabilitated?The symposium was a part of ongoing efforts by Jammu-Kashmir People’s Forum to apprise the country of the sad state of affairs in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
Blood donation camp to celebrate birthday of Shri Guruji and birth centenary of Yadavrao Joshi
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Govidaraja Nagar unit in Bengaluru in association with of the Rashtrotthana Blood Bank, Yadava Seva Samiti, Sheshadripuram and Nachiketa Manovikasa Kendra Vijayanagar, organised a blood donation camp on the occasion of RSS second Sarsanghachalak Shri Guruji’s 108 th birthday (February 25) and birth centenary year of Yadav Rao Joshi. The camp, organised on February 23, is being organised since 2006. This year it was held at the premises of Nachiketa Manovikasa Kendra, a school for mentally challenged kids. Well known dentist Dr Girija inaugurated the camp and explained the importance of blood donation.

RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh Shri Ram Madhav has authored a book, Uneasy Neighbours: India and China after Fifty Years of the War. The book deals with the history of 1962 war and highlights India’s failure to understand its neighbour well. India continues to suffer from same deficiency as she continues to tread the perilous path that it had tread before the War. The book proposes that the two countries remain fierce competitors and hence it is imperative for India to understand the thinking, tactics and tantrums of her ‘Uneasy Neighbour’ China.
Nationwide protest by Bajrang Dal seeking deportation of Bangladeshi infiltrators
Bajrang Dal organised a nationwide protest on February 25 at district headquarters seeking deportation of Bangladeshi infiltrators. The protest in Delhi was organised at Jantar-Mantar. After the protest a memorandum addressing President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee was submitted to the authorities concerned. The memorandum demanded immediate deporting of the Bangladeshi infiltrators from the country, as the infiltrators are not only the security threat to the country but also are eating country’s economic resources. Addressing the protestors at Jantar-Mantar, Bajrang Dal national chief Rajesh Pandey, said the foreign nationals creating security threat to our country cannot be accepted at our land anymore and the Congress should stop patronising such anti-national elements. VHP spokesperson Shri Prakash Sharma also addressed the protestors.
