Writing is a hobby with Justice Iyer.It may be judgments or sermons. He wants people to be law abiding and respectful.Justice VR Krishna Iyer is a versatile genius. He is not only well versed in law but in social relations also. This judgments have become the most important documents. He remained as a Judge of Supreme Court of India and his judgments are quoted even by the foreigners in their Countries also.He is the first Education Minister of erstwhile First Non-Congress Ministry of Non-Congress Government in Kerala.I fail to understand why the author’s bio-data skipped his political career, though, he has referred it in one of the references in the book on page 4.

He has not been fully appreciative of one appeal in the Supreme Court of India. He has given a good number of suggestions on page 4 of the book.He has discussed about easily available alcoholism and its effects. He has also touched the sexual offences relating to alcohol. He feels that the Panchayats are best in operating laws especially relating to alcoholism. He has also talked of the evils of alcoholism.Alcohol is not permitted in any religion anywhere except Christianity.Justice Iyer talks of the role of politics and religion sects is removing the evil of alcohol which leads to many vices including sins.He emphasises on Article 43 to control vices. His sentence that “no law is operative and justice to anything less than severe punishment is wrong and humour otherwise the role of the law is weak and to be a force to support the Rule of Law, is useful in life.He has talked of the bench and criticised the single judge of the bench in Kerala. The book carries important view points which need to be given proper practical shape. He is against the unnatural laws like Article 377 and given the same view points which Judges give and has been given by the Supreme Court of India. Recently, his views on water resources resemble the views of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His views on sex, terrorism are fantastic. On one side, he talks of Muslims unity and on the other hand, he talks of culture. He also talks on chaos in society. The book consists of 133 pages and is divided into 15 chapters. Each chapter has its relevance but the price of the book is most exorbitant. After reading the book everywhere he fights for the price with the publisher.I don’t understand why he compromised on this price.Further, books like Legal Spectrum, Legally Speaking, Unspeakable Anecdotes, Legally yours, Up Till now, Judges Potpourri, Law & Life, Dynamic Lawyering, The Children’s Code, Random Reflections, The India Law, Supreme Court shall not disown Social Justice are some of his books which are general in nature and for one specific age.But the present work is unique with 15 chapters on different points and varied aspects, these are the certain pages written on agriculture, water resources and Irrigation, all topics though don’t coincide yet have a message.I feel that price is too exorbitant. The book is not worth of this price.Printing is very good and so is binding. It catches eye.It is having good philosophy and excellent citations.
