Massive rallies in Davangere and Mangalore
Blaming Congress for ruining the country by indulging in large scale corruption, BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi asked people to put an end to Congress era. He was addressing ‘Bharata Gellisi’ (Make India Win) public rally at Government High School Ground in Davangere, 270 km from Bangalore, on February 18.
They (Congress) think India as ‘honey bee’ but we (BJP) think India as ‘Mother’, Modi said. While Congress terms poor as a state of mind, BJP serves poor as Daridra Narayana. “Serving Daridra Narayana is like serving God himself but Congress wants to cheat poor by depriving education, employment and overall development,” Modi said.
Expressing concern over the safety of women in Delhi and terming Delhi as ‘Rape Capital’, he condemned Congress Government for lowering the image of ‘Hindustan’ in the world.
Huge gathering of people cheered loudly ‘Modi, Modi, Modi’ repeatedly when Narendra modi said, Congress is thinking how to save their power and BJP is thinking how to save the country.
Narendra Modi accused wrong industrial policies of Congress which resulted in closing down of textile industries in Davangere. “It is sad to note that Davangere, which was known as Textile Manchester is reeling under severe problems and an entire Textile industry has wiped out,” Modi said by lowering his voice.
Everyone knows that reducing import and pushing export is good for economy but Congress is doing exactly opposite by banning export of cotton but allowing unlimited import of palmolein oil, Modi opined.
He disclosed ‘5F formula’ which he experimented in Gujarat that immensely help cotton growers. “Farm to Fiber to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign. Convert Farm (Cotton seeds) to Fiber, change Fiber to Fabric and Transform Fabric into Fashion (Readymade apparels) and export it,” Modi explained.
Modi assured that BJP, if comes to power, will take up interlinking of rivers on a priority basis. It is useful in supplying water to farmers even during drought and solves the side effects of flood too, Modi argued. “This point has already been proved in Ahmedabad. By interlinking Sabarmati with Narmada river, there is continuous stock of water flowing in Sabarmati river, which otherwise would have been dry during summer. The Narmada water is flowing in Sabarmati River now,” Modi explained.
Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa who spoke earlier maintained that BJP gets at least 20 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
After Davangere rally Modi went to Coastal city Mangalore and addressed a mammoth rally at Nehru Grounds. He said technology has to be used to help fisherman community in order to improve their business.
He assured arecant growers who are under constant threat about the possible ‘ban’ on arecanut, that he will join them to fight against such ban.
15,000 saints to mobilise support for Modi
More than 15000 saints are going to mobilise public support for Shri Narendra Modi all over the country. Implementing the decision taken at the Central Margdarshak Mandal meeting of VHP held on February 1 saints including Jagadgurus, Mahamandaleshwars etc would reach out to all voters right down to the block level to make them aware of the ground realities in the Last year in the Maha Kumbh Mela also the saints had decided for support Shri Modi.
Prant level Margadarshak Mandals have been formed in every Prant by the VHP and over 15,000 saints would lead this public awareness campaign. The saint fraternity would run this campaign in order to liberate the country from the unprecedented national crisis caused by the loot, corruption, price-rise, inflation, unemployment and misgovernance of the present central government. Though the issues of Ram Janmabhoomi, cow protection and saving the Ganga are imperative to every Hindu, the questions of escalating horizontal religious conversions being conducted by desert traditions and the decreasing Hindu demography are matters of great concern for the saints today. Today the country is victim of Maoist terrorism, Jehadi terrorism and violence of the salvation army of the church. This state of affairs is also a matter of great concern for the saints. People want these questions to be addressed at length and surely today they want guarantee of security at the micro and macro levels and definitely want national prosperity and national honour. In this campaign the saints would join in full strength.
Massive rally in Sujanpur, Himachal Pradesh
BJP believes in relationship not in membership
“It is Congress which sows the seeds of poison. Andhra Pradesh is the perfect example to prove that you do zeher ki kheti,” said Shri Narendra Modi while addressing a massive rally at Sujanpur on February. Lakhs of people from different parts of the state attended the rally and pledged their support. Party president Shri Rajnath Singh, former state CMs Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shri Shanta Kumar and many other senior party leaders were also present.
Accusing Congress of pursuing vote-bank politics, Shri Modi said the turmoil over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is a perfect example of how the ruling party sowed the ‘seeds of poison’. “Madam is saying the next election is for unity and her party is sowing the seeds of poison, he said. Noting that the creation of three new states under the NDA regime had been a smooth affair, Shri Modi said there was no strife when BJP bifurcated Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. “BJP does politics of love, not hatred,” he said while accusing Congress of doing politics of ‘hatred and untouchability’. “One day, a Kerala leader praised me, he was removed. A minister from Kerala met me, he was taken to task. This politics of hatred and untouchability is not good for democracy,” he added.
Expressing confidence that the BJP would return to power after the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Modi said, “The days of politics of breaking the country is over… BJP is committed only to the politics of development.” Calling upon the people to vote for ‘employment and a corruption-free India’, he said, “We are committed to taking the country to new heights… I have not come to you with promises but with the determination to make NDA the national development alliance”.
Taking a dig at HP Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Modi said although Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says that “money does not grow on trees”, the Himachal leader showed a 14-fold increase in income, claiming that the money had come from ‘trees’.
He promised new policies for the development of Himalayan states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir, while averring that special schemes may also be drawn up for the other states.
