Senior Sangh Pracharak, director of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram and president of Vivekananda Kendram, Kanyakumari, Shri P Parameshwaran was honoured in Kochi on third day of Bhagavatha Yajna going. He received the first Sukrutham Bhagavatha Puraskaram from Prof KV Thomas, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (independent charge). Bhagavatha Yajna is performed by Swami Udith Chaitanya, a famous and scholarly sanyasin from Kerala.

After receiving the award, Shri Parameshwaran  said he is not the winner of the award but he is humble enough not to be carried away by it. Because he does not like to overtake any one! Go into one’s inner self and fulfill one’s atma is the greatness of man, according to Bhagavatha. Likewise Poonthanam and Vivekananda had told that to take birth in this earth and live for dharma is the greatest fortune. But, we have to think where do the contemporary dearth of nationalism lead us to. He added that he accepted the award on behalf of his great organisation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Because his life is dedicated to it. He had accepted all the awards in the same spirit in the past also. He never condemns the award which he never he gets.
