THE BJP, if gets the opportunity in Delhi, wants to devise a 20-year agenda for all-round development of the national capital. We feel just a five year planning cannot lead Delhi to the development as is needed. All facilities will be provided or the existed will be strengthened keeping in view the possible growth in population in two decades—how many dispensaries, hospitals, schools, collages, roads, electricity, water, etc will be required.
Our second planning is to focus on the development of entire National Capital Region, because without focusing on the development of NCR, Delhi will not be able to bear the load of growing population and other infrastructure. Not only NCR, we also have to see there is proper development in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar so that minimum number of people migrate from there. If there are facilities and employment opportunities there, why would they come here in such a large number?
Another important issue is electricity. As per our promise, we shall reduce electricity tariff at least 30 per cent. A healthy competition will be recited among the power distribution companies by inducting more players in this field. Their accounts will be audited by the CAG to ensure transparency.
As far as water is concerned we shall focus on equal and proper distribution in all areas. Since Delhi has spent Rs 500 crore on Munak canal, water will be received through it. We will certainly not allow privatisation of water in Delhi.
The issue of unauthorised colonies has been very sensitive in Delhi. We shall regularise those colonies in a manner that they witness all-round development without being trapped in any court matter. For smooth development of villages, we shall abolish Section 81 and 33 and proper attention will be paid towards providing roads, sewer and water in the rural areas.
For education, we want to open new colleges and Universities in Delhi. There have been only 54,000 seats in different colleges of Delhi for the last 15 years. They will be increased substantially as per the requirement. Apart from it, there will be evening classes in morning colleges so that maximum students seek admission. All the students who have passed examinations through CBSC in Delhi (no matter which state they belong to) will be given priority in admissions. We want to reserve 85 per cent seats in Delhi colleges for the students of Delhi only.
For health, we shall open new hospitals. Today there is only one AIIMS in Delhi. We shall create at least four more AIIMS so that everyone get state of the art health facility. Apart from it, mobile dispensaries will be started on large scale.
We will also focus on providing shelter to all. Nobody will be without roof. As far as jhuggi dwellers are concerned, they will be provided houses where they live today.
