Is there a plan to silence the bells and stop aarati at Balaji Temple

Organiser, 29.9.2013); I was very much disturbed after reading the news in  Organiser that an International Islamic University would be build near Tirupati. It is downright insulting and  defiling our sacred  place. Tirupati is one of the most holiest places of the Hindus and every Hindu wants to visit it with devotion and  shradha. This so-called university should be shifted to a place like Hydrabad as suggested in the article. It is distressing that there  are mosques near every Hindu temple.  Some years back we visited  the birth place of Lord Krishna.  When we came out after visiting the  temple  we were surprised to see  a deserted  masjid right over the birth place of Lord Krishna. It is surprising that we cannot do aarati( prayer) in some  temples in Hydrabad because as they say it disturbes the Muslims. But what  about the azan (Muslim prayer five time a day).

Voter is still gullible Not only UP but the whole nation needs a development agenda rather more than it needs vote – bank politics. Unfortunately  the truth remains that voters are still gullible. How else do we explain riots with such stunning regularity? A miscreant is identified , not as an individual but as a representative of a community. The angst therefore is directed not towards the individual but the whole community. The other community then responds and the madness begins . This is the beginning of perhaps  every riot in history. Directing anger against a community rather than an individual was a tactic adopted by rulers centuries ago. Today  it has become common for most voters to view themselves as representatives of a community, caste or religion. It is therefore the voter who has to discard this façade and unlearn his identity.

Policy with Pakistan  must be a policy based on strength (Organiser, 18.8.2013);  This         refers to “Policy with Pakistan must be a policy based  on strength: Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee” in Organiser, The advice which Dr Mookerjee gave to  Nehru  in the Lok  Sabha on December 6, 1950 was that “Our policy must be based on reciprocity, complete reciprocity.” This advise is very much  valid even today as all the Congress rulers  have been indulging in appeasement of Pakistan to get Muslim votes. Infact Congress leaders have been behaving like agents of Pakistan in India. BJP must expose the wrongs and misdeeds of the Congress leaders, both done in the past by Gandhi, Nehru,  Shastri, Indira etc. , and in the present being done by various leaders. Gandhi, Nehru and Sardar Patel created Kashmir problem, by promoting Sheikh Abdullah, preventing fast advancing Indian forces from freeing whole of J&K, and enacting Article-370 (it was done by Patel). Lal Bahadur Shastri returned to Pakistan, a very big district of Tharparkar in Sindh with overwhelming Hindu population, which was captured by our brave army in 1965 war with Pakistan. This district has common border with Rajasthan. And Indira Gandhi returned Chittagong Hill Tract (CHT) with 97 per cent Buddhist Chakma population, to Bangladesh thus frustrating the sacrifices of our jawans. These are a few examples to show, that Congress leaders have been acting as agents of Pakistan and doing treachery with India. This is the most appropriate time to expose the misdeeds of Congress as the next Lok Sabha elections are nearing.

Lack of public skills in UPA The lack of public relations skills in top Congress leadership is evedent from the fact that they continue to read from written scripts .Both  Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi tend to do this. This scenario is much better in the case of Opposition leaders like Narendra Modi who are gifted with adequate talent to reach out to the masses directly and gain their attention. The pitiable condition of UPA due to poor governance provides added opportunities  for these leaders. Spokespersons of Congress has also done precious little to make up for shortcomings of these leaders. Instead of ensuring skilful damage control for the UPA’s acts of omission and commission and becoming a touchstone for peoples aspirations, they tend to take a negative approach. UPA will suffer badly if it is unable to change its attitude.

Public punishment for rapists It is high time that rapists are given a public hanging. This will be a lesson for perverts not to mess with women or treat them like soft toys. Rapists are like terrorists with a depraved mind. They have no religion. Why don’t they see their own mother or sister in the rape survivor? In majority of cases, rape cases are covered up by the police, as the rapist has political clout or are known to powers that be. It’s high time rape cases are tried by women judges only. According to me, a rapist should be publicly punished. This will stop violent men from committing such heinous crimes. It will also teach men to treat women with dignity. The existing rape laws are very weak.

Time to anoint Modi for PM’s post (Organiser, 1.9.2013); This is with reference to Dr Jay Dubashi’s  article in Organiser, ‘Time to anoint Modi for PM’s post’. People like Amartya Sen or anti-nationalists in India have yet to accept the fact that Shri Modi has come to dominate politics at the national level like Pt.Nehru, Shastriji and Smt.Indira in their time. I still remember while travelling with my nanaji in DTC buses in the 70s from Sarojini Nagar in Delhi, people would passionately discuss what Nehru did, what Shastriji did without forgetting Indiraji who being a woman was calling the shots in those days. Similarly, today Modiji is making the news and setting the political agenda, much to the dislike of Mr.Sen, who is person of Indian origin only and nothing more.
