In the ashram at Narayankoti, the tale of Radhaballabh Bhatt brings tears to the eyes of everybody. In Kedarghati, bringing pilgrims on wooden bridges over the Alaknanda was proving difficult. This brave lad helped a hundred people cross the bridge but the bridge was washed away and in the process, he lost his own life. For the media and the rest of India, this might be a forgotten matter but for the Sangh Parivar, this is India’s biggest karnbhoomi. The swayamsevaks are now busy in rehabilitation of the affected villages. At this moment one remembers the word of Shri Shyamlal Gupt, the former general secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad which he had uttered during the devastation of Kutch: No person, family or organisation can achieve success unless he has cleared the steps of difficulty. What lesson does Nature want to teach us- not be afraid of the thunder during the rains? Only the person or society who has crossed the ocean of tears and who has tried to bathe in the river of sweat can can think of inheriting the responsibility of a future society.
