The recent calamity in Uttarakhand claimed thousands of lives and rendered lakhs of people homeless. Hundreds of villages washed away and thousands of children became orphan. The quantum of huge damage is still to be calculated. During and after this tragedy there were some people, who notwithstanding the nature’s fury,  decided to serve the affected people risking their own lives. They are the real heroes of Uttarakhand.
