(Organiser, 23.06.2013-21.7.2013) The suggestion made by Shri Ashok V Chowgule, Working President, VHP (External), that temple funds of various states should be used for the reconstruction of Uttarakhand is to be welcomed. It would be a good idea if VHP can bring all Hindus together under the auspicies of an association of all Mathadhipatis and Shankarcharyas to reconstruct all temples which have been affected by the floods, especially Kedranath Temple.
As far as the rehabilitation of people and villages are concered, it is the duty of the Uttarakhand and the Union Governemnts to do so – rebuilding schools, hospitals, roads, guest-houses and other infrastructure. In view of the fragile nature of the hills and mountains, reconstruction must be environmental friendly. The Uttarakhand government should promote pilgrimage rather than tourism to safeguard delicate flora and fauna of the State. The Uttarakhand tragedy was created by a over-enthusiastic industrialisation, hydro-power dams, and urbanisation ushered in the State after its creation. Man succeeds only when he acts in tune with the nature, not against the nature.

Dr Dubashi’s articles on disputed structure in Organiser I have been reading Dr Jay Dubashi’s articles on the fall of the disputed structure at Ayodhya in Organiser with great interest. When important historic events like the demolition of the disputed structure or the Beril Wall takes place various emotions on historicity of the event occur in the minds of thinking people. Perhaps, Vajpayeeji, the great intellectual of extraordinary wisdom was so affected after the disputed structure demolition. It was by no means that he was sorry that such an event took place, and he was sad.

Islam is synonymous with brutality (Organiser 19.5.2013); This refers to ‘Islam is synonymous with brutality’ by Dr Jay Dubashi in Organiser. He has given briefly an authentic account of brutalities by Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan and very correctly observed, that “cruelty runs in the Muslim blood”. And it is a historical fact, that Hindus have been the worst sufferers. Hindu India extended upto Afghanistan (Gandhara) and Central Asia (Kamboja). As per ancient Buddhist literature, these Gandhara and Kamboja have been included in the sixteen Mahajanapadas of Aryavarta. One can see that the present India has been reduced to half of its original size, all due Islamic cruelties and forced conversion to Islam. We should infact feel ashamed that India has been reduced to half, and even that half India is not excusively our homeland, but Muslims carry much more importance than us. One thing, which I do not understand is, that according to which logic, Gandhi, Nehru, Patel and Congress leaders persuaded Muslims to live in truncated India of Hindu’s share, while practically all the Hindus and Sikhs were brutally liquidated from Pakistan in 1947. Thus Congress leaders are the biggest culprit, even more than the Muslims for cruelties on Hindus.

Fast Track Courts Though Fast Track Courts have been constituted to deal with the rape cases but inspite of that there are hundreds of cases lying pending and so far the culprits have not been awarded stringent punishment. By amending the anti-rape laws, provisions should be made for capital punishment for rapist and justice should be meted out by the Fast Track Courts within two to three months. It is more than eight months since the Damini Gang rape case has happened and so far the trial is still hanging on fire and it seems that there is no hope of getting the decision of the court in the near future. Every day rape cases are coming to light, in fact there number is increasing since the criminals have become fearless as there is no quick decision and award of stringent punishment to the rapists. I hope the sleeping UPA government will have some pitty on the victims and do the needful at the earliest.

Sheila govt cannot even provide water It is very sad to learn that even in a city like Delhi people die because of consumption of contaminated water. One can very well imagine that if this is happening in Delhi what would be the condition of other states. Sheila Dikshit is the chairperson of the Delhi Jal Board for the last fourteen and half years but even today even less than 60 per cent of the people living in Delhi get the Jal Board water. There are several germs to make one sick in the water that is being supplied at several places through tankers. There are many places where sewer water comes in contact with the Jal Board’s water pipe line and contaminates the water. Infact several water samples of Delhi Jal Board have failed the test – with no effect on Sheila Dikshit government. On the other hand the tariff of water has been increased upto 1,700 per cent in the last 14 years. Even sewer charges are being added at places where there is no sewer line.

Myanmar refugees—whether refugees or illegal infiltrators It has appeared in the Hindu dated 1.7.2013 that Myanmar Rohingya Muslims have infiltrated to India and 1,500 persons have settled down in Hyderabad at various places. They have been provided with shelter and jobs by the local persons of their community. We have Tibetan refugees too since decades. The illegal migrants have posed a great threat to security of the country. Recent serial bombing at Bodhgaya Mandir on 7.7.2013 maybe the conspiracy of Rohingyas and terrorist. We have bitter experience with the illegal Bangladeshi migrants. Instead of taking shelter in the neighbouring country the migrants crossed Bangladesh border and entered Indian soil. The UN Commissioner for Refugees should intervene and solve the problem of refugees and stateless persons.
