undefinedThe new office building of Vikrama, leading Kannada weekly, was inaugurated on July 7 at Chamarajapet in Bengaluru. Justice (retd) Dr M Rama Jois, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Vyavastha Pramukh Shri Mangesh Bhende and noted journalist Girija Shankar jointly inaugurated the building.

Samskrit Bharati’s Samskrit Kutumbavarg on August 9

Bengaluru unit of Samskrit Bharati is organising ‘Samskrit Kutumbavarg’, a unique 3-day family camp, exclusively for families with professionals from various industries, who would love to make Sanskrit their mode of communication at home. It is an exciting opportunity for those who want to explore the world of Sanskrit and make it their own. The participants would require to stay in the premises of Aksharam, Girinagar for the camp, on all the three days. Exquisite facilities of accommodation, food, books and references, and an environment filled with an aura of Sanskrit shall be provided. A fee of Rs 2,000 per family (inclusive of children below 10 years of age) will be charged. An extra fee of Rs.500 shall be payable for children above the age of 10.

Baba Ramdev meets Sarsanghachalak in Nagpur

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev met the RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat in Nagpur on July 8. “We discussed the political situation and the impending elections,” Baba Ramdev said after the meeting. The yoga guru said in the first phase, “We will decide later on extending support to either individual candidate on merit or to the NDA if we are convinced by its policies,” he said.

Bank unions oppose new bank licencing policy

Leading bank unions have decided to oppose the New Bank Licencing Policy of the UPA Government. A meeting of unions recently held in Chennai under the banner of UFBU deliberated at length on the issue. The unions said the Licencing Policy is aimed at favouring the corporate and business houses. The meeting also noted with concern that many of the applicants do not have any background of Banking and Finance. It was decided to take up the issue once again with the authorities concerned and demanding review and reconsideration of their decision in encouraging private sector banks by the corporate houses. 

ABVP Foundation Day
observed in Delhi

ABVP celebrated its 64th foundation day by planting trees in Arts Faculty, Delhi University, with the motto to save earth and go green. ABVP was formed on July 9, 1949 with the vision of reconstruction of country and making youth aware and dedicated to the country. Volleyball and quiz competition, cricket tournament and debate competition were also held.
