Three-day workers training camp of RSS in Meerut

THE country is surrounded by many challenges, which have disappointed many people. But the saints and swayam-sevaks never get disappointed with any challenge and they continue to make efforts to achieve their goal. They know no power on the earth can eliminate Hinduism,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a gathering of the Sangh workers attending a three-day camp in Meerut recently. Noted Jain saint Shri Pulak Sagar Maharaj also attended the function.

Describing China as the biggest threat to India, as it is expanding its influence on all four sides, Shri Bhagwat said the porous borders are inviting threats from the neighbouring countries. Referring to the internal threats, he said foreign direct investment in retail would ruin the Indian retail sector. “The problem is that the rulers today do not see the public interest at all. The people of America do not want Walmart at all. The experience of many of the countries in the world with regard to FDI is not encouraging. But the government is sacrificing the national interest,” he said.

Referring to social discrimination and untouchability he said a large section of society has not been treated properly in the past. It only increased the distance in the society. Need of the hour is that the entire society should be freed from all kinds of discrimination. Describing Hindutva as the swatva of Bharat, he said it provides a base for social reconstruction. He said the country cannot become a superpower without the unity of all sections.

Shri Bhagwat appealed to the society to join hands with the RSS for creating a society free from selfishness and discrimination. Regarding the gang-rape of a 23-year old para-medic student in Delhi, he said, “It is a matter of great concern that in the capital city, girls are not safe though there is no need to be disheartened, we just need to think of solutions.”

Presiding over the concluding function, noted Jain saint Shri Pulak Sagar Maharaj said the country needs to draw inspiration from the discipline and patriotism of the RSS. “The life of RSS swayamsevaks is no less than any saint. Their uniform too is no less holy than the dress of the saints,” he said stressing upon the unity of Hindu society. “A divided and outdated society has no value. The designs of the conversion forces can be countered by a united society only,” he said describing the Gita as the foundation of all ways of worship of the world.

An exhibition displayed the life of Swami Vivekananda, achievements of Indians world over, activities of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh and also different RSS-associated organisations. The exhibition was appreciated by one and all. Shri Mohan Bhagwat and Shri Pulak Sagar Maharaj also jointly released the special issue of Rashtradev on Swami Vivekananda.
