The Karnataka State committee to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was formed in Bengaluru on November 25 as Justice (retd) Shivaraj Patil the honourary president. Inaugurating the 53 members committee, Justice Patil said the committee would conduct many activities to take the teachings and message of the great saint to all the countrymen.
Prominent social workers, academicians, professionals and noted personalities have been included in the Committee. Dr M Mohan Alva will be the president, while Dr Chidananda Gowda, Dr Balasubrahmanyam, HD Kote, Dr Meena Chandavarkar, Dr GS Patil are vice presidents. RSS Karnataka Prant Karyavah Shri N Tippeswamy is general secretary. Senior Sangh functionaries Shri Mai Cha Jayadev, Shri Kru Narahari, Shri N Tippeswamy, CR Mukunda, etc were also present at the meeting. A website, vivek150.org was also launched on this occasion.
