Vidya Bharati Silver jubilee national sports meet
The national silver jubilee sports meet of Vidya Bharati concluded in New Delhi on November 27 with U Aarthi of South India winning three gold medals and emerging as the distinguished player. Over all, Eastern Uttar Pradesh performed the best.
About 700 sportsperson from different parts of the country participated in the meet, which was inaugurated on November 24 by former Deputy Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Shri LK Advani. He exhorted the students to excel in every field so that Bharat could emerge as a superpower. Noted industrialist Mahashaya Dharmapal of MDH, winner of bronze medal in Olympics Yogeshwar Datt, North Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt Meera Agrawal and national secretary of Vdiya Bharati Shriram Aravakar were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Shri Aravakar apprised the gathering of the 25 years journey of Vidya Bharati’s sports activities. The event began with the joint Suryanamaskar by 6000 students. Noted wrestler Shri Satpal, bronze medal winner in Olympics and noted wrestler Sushil Kumar, patron of Vidya Bharati Shri Brahmadev Sharma ‘Bhaiji’ honoured the winners at the concluding ceremony.
