“India needs to rise and fight back to reclaim its lost pride by freeing our land forcibly occupied by China and Pakistan. Time has come to rectify the Himalayan blunders of 1947 and 1962. Every Indian needs to take a pledge to strive to restore the pride of our martyrs and motherland”, said noted social activist, and patron of Bharat-Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) Indresh Kumar here on Thursday (Nov. 8, 2012).
Indresh Kumar was addressing a crowded audience on “50 years of Chinese aggression and unrest in the Himalayas” at a public Function organized by BTSM at Mahatma Gandhi Centennial High School. BTSM Vidarbha unit president Prof Vijay Kewalramani, Sardar Jasvinder Singh Saini, President and Suresh Purohit, Secretary of Nagpur City unit of BTSM, and T Siring, representative of the Government of Tibet in Exile were present on the dais.
To those awed by China’s development and military progress in comparison with India were forgetting the story of a mighty elephant and ants, Indresh Kumar said. Recalling the story as an anecdote he said that the mighty pachyderm annihilated 9,000 out of 10,000 ants but a few ants could manage to kill the mighty animal. This reflected their undaunted spirit and will to win. Same is the case with India, he said adding that our brave and dedicated soldiers held back the assault of the mighty Chinese army in 1962 braving the most adverse conditions both climatic and military.
“Now we are better poised militarily and there is no reason whatsoever that could prevent us from reclaiming the Indian Territory forcibly occupied by China and Pakistan in Arunachal Pradesh, Laddakh and Jammu and Kashmir”, he said. The Pakistani terrorists attacked our Parliament – the temple of democracy in 2002. Not satisfied by this they bombed and torched Hotel Taj and other places in Mumbai in 2008.
Earlier, President of Vidarbha Unit of BTSM Prof Vijay Kewalramani made introductory remarks. The program began with the guests offering floral tributes to the holy soil brought from the Bum-la border by a group of BTSM activists who had recently visited the border post. Those who went there were honored with a rose flower by Shakeel Patel and Ahmed Kadar of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Nagpur. Ashok Mendhe, Secretary of BTSM compeered the proceedings of the program while Virag Pachpore proposed a vote of thanks. The programme concluded by singing of national anthems of Tibet and India.
