Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas To celebrate birth anniversary of S Ramanujan

SINCE this year is being celebrated as National Mathematics Year as a tribute to noted mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas is going to observe the year on large scale. The Nyas will organise functions to this effect all over the country. The Nyas, in association with Sanatan Dharma Public School, Pitampura, hosted a similar function from July 26 to 28 in Delhi. Students from around 40 schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the function. Eight students and two teachers from each school took part in various workshops based on varied mathematical concepts.
The function was inaugurated by CBSE Chairman Shri Vineet Joshi. (Retd) Prof VP Gupta (NCERT), Prof VP Srivastava, former Dean of Delhi University Prof Dharam Prakash, renowned academician Dr Manmohan Singh Arora, educationist Dr Atul Nischal, Dr Kailash Vishwakarma, Shri BM Aggarwal of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Vice Principal of DPS, Bahadurgarh, Smt Shuchi Goel, etc. were also present on the occasion.
The programme was divided into three phases. In the first phase, activities like maths craft, Vedic maths, ICT skills, creative learning and strategies were designed for students and teachers. The second phase focussed on challenging problems in mathematics. The third phase was dedicated to showcasing the work of students and teachers.
