“Kaho dil se, BJP phir se” slogan echoes in massive rally
Arun Jaitley
HP State BJP executive meeting July 21-22

LEADER of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Shri Arun Jaitley, has said the Congress-led UPA government had been reduced to a private public limited company with the position of prime minister compromised to that of just a CEO whose job is only to implement the decisions of the board of directors and its chairman in the person of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and her NAC.
Shri Jaitley was addressing a massive rally organized by BJP at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on July 22 on the conclusion of its two-day executive committee meeting. He said UPA is in ICU subsisting on the ventilator provided by Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party to let it breathe. They can withdraw the life support any time it suits the political and electoral purpose of both.
Shri Jaitley said UPA is cracking up and the States like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan from where it drew its main strength are slipping out of its hand. This government could collapse any time next year and the nation may have to face the prospect of Lok Sabha elections earlier than 2014.
Speaking of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jaitley said BJP government under Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal had done extremely well and it is bound to romp home with flying colours in the coming elections.
Earlier, Shri Jaitley addressed the concluding session of the two-day meeting of the HP Bharatiya Janata Party State Executive virtually turned out to be a brainstorming session in which every participant right from the Central leaders – Sarvshri Ram Lal, general secretary (organization), Arun Jaitley, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Shanta Kumar MP vice-president, Kalraj Mishra State incharge and vice-president, Jagat Prakash Nadda, general secretary, Shyam Jaju, co-incharge and Secretary — down to the State chief minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, State president Satpal Singh Satti, state office-bearers and members of executive looked all anxious to turn the possibility of BJP again bouncing back to power into a reality. Prof. Dhumal said it is for the first time in the history of State BJP that so many central leaders have come to bless and guide the party. This has raised the morale of BJP karyakartas high and Party”s victory is sure, he hoped.
Went beyond promoties: Dhumal
Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said there is no section of society which has not benefitted from the welfare programmes of the government. He claimed that BJP government has not only fulfilled each and every promise made in the election manifesto but gone much beyond that. This has generated a greater sense of confidence and faith among the people. They have come to realize that BJP government says what it does and does what it says. Citing one example, he said provision of 4 CFL bulbs to every home was not one among the election promises, yet BJP government did it at a cost of ` 63 crores and further ushered in an annual saving of ` 110 crores to the people in their electricity bills.
National general secretary (organization) Shri Ram Lal asked leaders and workers to ensure that BJP knocks every door in the days to come to make people understand what great the BJP government had done and seek their blessings. No effort should be spared to ensure party’s win. Exhorting workers to perform their duty wherever they are, Shri Ram Lal said they should on their own volunteer to work for the party and not wait for any work to be assigned.
National general secretary Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda charged the Congress-led Union government with being the most inefficient and corrupt. He said it could afford to waste foodgrains worth 85 thousand crores but not distribute it free, despite directions of the Supreme Court, to the poor who go to bed hungry.
United we win: Shanta Kumar
BJP national vice-president Shri Shanta Kumar MP expressed happiness that the rank and file of the party is united to achieve the “Mission Repeat” for the Dhumal government. Praising it for its excellent performance he called upon the workers to ensure renewal of peoples’ mandate for this government. There should be no over-confidence and complacency, he said.
