19th Bhaurao Memorial Lecture in Noida

Former Lok Sabha General Secretary Dr Subhash Kashyap stressed the need for a mass movement for election and political reforms in the country. Delivering the 19th Bhaurao Deoras Memorial Lecture in Noida on May 19, he said there is a dire need to exhort every one, join hands in democratic process and recognise their duties as Indian citizen. Former Governor of Tripura and Chhattisgarh Lt. General (retd) Shri KM Seth and many other eminent personalities were also present on the occasion. Dr Kashyap said the country is passing through a critical phase and the entire political system seems to be crippled. People have lost faith in quality, honesty and efficiency of the government agencies and the leadership has failed to fulfill the expectations of the people. The standards in public life have declined and there is crisis of character and values in the politics. In this situation the country needs reforms in many sectors, he said.        (FOC)
