After Supreme Court’s repeated slap on the UPA government over 4.5 per cent Muslim quota, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded the government to withdraw the quota with immediate effect and apologise from the country.  “The Union and the State Governments should immediately withdraw all types of quotas given to Muslims in any field like education, jobs, bank loans, etc. They also must immediately apologise to Bharat for such an unconstitutional vote-focused decision forced on to Bharat depriving the real needy poor OBCs, SCs, Tribals and open merit citizens of their right to education, jobs, bank loans etc,” said a press statement issued by VHP working president Dr Pravin Togadia on June 11.
The Supreme Court on June 11 and 13 lambasted the Central government for 4.5 per cent quota given exclusively to the Muslims by snatching from 27 per cent OBC quota. The Union Government had gone to the Supreme Court in an appeal in a great hurry against Andhra Pradesh HC’s decision against 4.5 per cent quota to the Muslims.
“This is a severe blow to the Union government and also to all other State governments which have been trying to appease Muslim vote-bank through special favours like quotas and reservations to the Muslims by snatching the rights of real poor and needy OBCs, SCs, Tribals and from open merit. After such a severe slap, now the Government must also scrap in total the reports by the Rangnath Misra Commission and the Rajendra Sachar Committee as the Government which is doing a special study for a specific religion with the obvious intention to favour it over other religions is itself unconstitutional. The governments have spent Hindu taxpayers’ money in all such baseless studies and then for court cases. As a compensation, this year, all Hindu tax payers should be given one per cent rebate in all tax payments and the expenses that have been incurred for such unconstitutional surveys and the appeals in the courts should be recovered from Muslims,” the statement said.                  (FOC)
