Interlocutors’ Report not in national interest

Launching a scathing attack on the report submitted to the Government of India by the interlocutors on Kashmir, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) made it amply clear that it will thwart any attempt to alienate Kashmir from India.
Voicing serious concern and doubting the integrity of the interlocutors, RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said the report spoke the language of the anti-national elements active in Kashmir since decades.
Shri Bhagwat was addressing the swayamsevaks and invitees on the occasion of the concluding function of the month-long RSS Third Year annual training camp. A total of 1013 swayamsevaks drawn from all the provinces of the country, representing almost each tehsil, participated in the camp. Shri Ashwini Kumar, Editor of Punjab Kesari, was the chief guest. Sarvadhikari of the camp Dr Jayantibhai Bhadesia and Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr Dilip Gupta also shared the dais.
The RSS chief took objection to the interlocutors’ report on the terms such as ‘Pak-Administered Kashmir’ (PaK) in place of PoK. “This is the language the separatists have been using. By using the same language whose interests these Government-appointed interlocutors are going to serve?” Shri Bhagwat asked.
He was critical of the report for it called for setting up joint institutions and joint consultative committees of elected representatives across the LoC for development of resources and other common matters. The interlocutors also recommended dual status and dual character for Jammu & Kashmir. They also recommended deleting the ‘temporary’ word with reference to Article 370 and replacing it with ‘permanent’. They favoured the anti-nationals in Kashmir and did not communicate with the Kashmiri Pandits or any other such groups, Shri Bhagwat said.
The RSS Chief further said the absence of strong political will and failure of the countrymen to unite on issues of national importance are responsible for many problems the country is confronted with today. The Kashmir problem is one amongst such many problems. He  said we were not able to free and regain control over those parts which were forcibly occupied by Pakistan 66 years ago.
“The Parliament of India had unanimously passed a resolution in 1994 that whole of Kashmir, including PoK, was indivisible part of India and that we have to get back the areas illegally occupied by Pakistan. However, no successive government had ever tried or initiated steps to retrieve those parts in the last 16 years, he lamented.
“Today the boundaries of our country are not safe as China and Pakistan are trying to encircle and gain control over the border areas. The Chinese have virtually occupied some territory of India in Arunachal Pradesh and the Government has failed to save and secure our borders,” he added.
“The country is facing several such problems today because we as a people have failed to evolve as a society that considers nationalism and patriotism of supreme importance and show our unity to resolve these problems created by the politicians and parties that cared for their vote-banks more than the national interests,” the RSS Chief said.
Shri Bhagwat also lambasted the politicians for adopting the minority appeasement policy. Citing the example of West Bengal Government he questioned the propriety of granting a pay hike to the Maulavis and Mullahs of the mosques. “It is the public and taxpayers’ money. And the majority of them are Hindu,” he said adding that there was need to go beyond such appeasement of any one section of the society.
The people have lost faith in the politicians. They will have to change their attitude towards this country and unite for development and safeguard the integrity of the country. The RSS has been doing this work for the past 87 years. The Sangh will work to develop the country as ‘modern India’ and realise the dreams of the great leaders.
Supporting the movements against corruption launched by Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev, Shri Bhagwat sounded a warning that unless the people brought about the desired change in their attitude and lifestyle, such movements would not end the menace of corruption.
The RSS chief also attacked the economic situation and called for giving a new thought to it. Citing example of France he said the French President Nocholas Sarkozi had appointed a panel including noted Indian economist Amartya Sen to suggest reforms. Even France is ready to go beyond the old concepts of GDP and introduce new ones to set right its economy. Why can’t we do this? he asked.
In his speech, Shri Ashwini Kumar called for frustrating nefarious designs of the anti-national forces supported and encouraged by our neighbouring countries. 
In a hard-hitting speech the firebrand newsman, who bore the brunt of terrorist violence which took lives of his grand father and father, Ashwini Kumar lambasted the Central Government for its failure to take back the PoK. He said the integrity and unity of the country was in danger and it was necessary to elect people who possessed nationalistic credentials beyond doubts. He also voiced his concerns over the growing conversion activities and demanded ban on such activities as they were detrimental to the national unity and integrity.
Earlier, Dr Jaynatibhai Bhadesiya made introductory remarks while Karyawah Shri Jaswant Khatri proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted in the Maharashi Vyas Sabhagriha due to heavy downpour just prior to the programme. It was attended among others by Rashtra Sevika Samiti Pramukh Sanchalika Pramilatai Medhe, Pramukh Karyavahika Shantakka, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, Mayor Anil Sole and others.
