Three-day Hindu Shakti Sangam in Hubli, North Karnataka

Three-day Hindu Shakti Sangam in Hubli, North Karnataka

—Mohan Bhagwat

“We belong to the Hindu nation. Hindutva is the only ideology which unites this nation and which has solutions to all national challenges,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat  in Hubli on Janurary 29. He was addressing a mammoth gathering of swayamsevaks at the valedictory function of a three-day Hindu Shakti Sangam-2012. Sri Rajayogeendra Mahaswamy, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi, Kshetra Sanghachalak Justice (retd) Shri Parvath Rao and Prant Sanghachalak Dr Khageshan Pattana Shetty were also present on the dais.

$img_titleThe Hindu Shakti Sangam was held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of visit of RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar to Chikkodi of North Karnataka on January 16, 1937 from where RSS activities began in Karnataka.

undefinedFrom 1894 villages of 13 districts of North Karnataka 21,554 swayamsevaks participated in the three-day residential camp. Around 2000 swayamsevaks worked as Prabandhaks. The live webcasting of the programme was arranged for global viewers through www.samvada .org, the official website of Vishwa Samvada Kendra, Karnataka.

Shri Bhagwat said men with high character and social commitment are the need of the hour. This is the requirement for the world, as violence is growing globally; India has the potentiality to solve it. RSS is involved in making the countrymen to think and work for the nation.

undefinedPresiding over the concluding ceremony veteran scientist Dr VJ Sundaram said India proved her potentiality in technology and our missile technology is one of the best in the world. In development of Prithvi missile, I realised the strength of India being its project director.

Earlier, addressing the gathering on January 28, Pejawar seer Shri Vishvesh Teertha described the Sangam as Vishwaroopa Darshanam of RSS organisational strength. “Along with the golden concepts of Matru Devo Bhava and Pitru Devo Bhava, we must ensure that we observe the notion of Desha Devo Bhava,” he said.

Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi and Sri Rajayogeendra Swamy jointly inaugurated the Sangam on January 27. At the inaugural session Shri Johsi said whenever the society witnessed attacks from invaders and imbroglio within the country, the Hindu society showed its potentiality to digest the challenges. The Hindu Shakti Sangam reminds the potentiality of Hindu society. “The Sangh has grown facing all challenges and has now spread across the country. The society has accepted Sangh work and supported us whenever the situation demanded. The swayamsevaks are building a strong nation,” he said.
During the inaugural ceremony Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri DV Sadananda Gowda, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Akhil Bharatiya Bauddhik Pramukh Shri Bhagaiah, RSS National Executive Member Shri MC Jayadev, senior Pracharaks Shri N Krishnappa, Shri S Ramanna, Shri Mangesh Bhende, Shri DM Raveendra and several other socio-religious leaders were also present on the occasion.

An exhibition ‘Yugadrishti’ was also organised highlighting the achievements of Indian culture and the growth of Sangh work in Karnataka. The three-day Sangam was held at Hubli outskirts in an artificially built area, near Tarihar bypass off Gokul Road named ‘Vijayanagar’, remembering the glorious legacy of Vijayanagar Dynasty Kingdom of Hampi.

As a part of the Hindu Shakti Sangam, a gathering of seers from different mutts of North Karnataka, was also held in Hubli on January 29. Sarsangha-chalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat shared his concerns over various issues of national importance with the seers. Saints from various mutts shown their unity along with the RSS.
