ABVP J&K alumni meet in Jammu

ABVP works for character building in a patriotic atmosphere—Suresh Soni?

$img_titleJammu & Kashmir unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a alumni meet) in Jammu on December 9. A large number of former ABVP activists attended the meet along with their family members. The hall witnessed an audience comprising of children, youth and senior citizens, which truly represented a complete look of family. Such a homely atmosphere was showered with the heart touching speech by RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni, ABVP national organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar and ABVP national Executive Member Dr Narender Singh Raina.

Shri Soni touched the spirit and idea behind the working of ABVP. He said the ABVP is an organisation which works for character building in a patriotic atmosphere. It is because of the youth organisaions like the ABVP that other countries too are looking towards India for future leadership in each and every field of the society. He said it is the strong family values and norms for which the West looks at India. He emphasised that it is due to consumerist life of the West that led to the global recession. But India remained untouched by these problems because of the spiritual values of our culture. He stressed on greater role of the ABVP in the 21st century.

Shri Sunil Ambekar highlighted the efforts of the ABVP for eradicating evils from the social, economic and political field. He mentioned how the ABVP opposed untouchability and raised voice for better infrastructure in SC/ST hostels and how ABVP fought for eradication of corruption from India by launching Youth Against Corruption movement.

Dr Narender Singh Raina highlighted the achievements of ABVP in last 50 years in J&K. He threw light on how the Students National Association merged into ABVP in 1953 and the agitation of the Praja Parishad in which the ABVP played an active role.  Prant Sanghachalak Brigader Suchet Singh, Prant Pracharak Shri Ramesh Pappa, Prant Karyavah Shri Purshotam Dadhichi and many other prominent personalties were also present on the occasion.
