Plans massive agitations against Communal Violence Bill
and quota for Muslims

By S Chandrasekhar

It is change of guard at the top slot in the VHP. The three-day meeting of the Board of Trustees, held at VHP State Headquarters in Kochi from December 16 to 18, unanimously selected Shri Raghav Reddy of Hyderabad as new international president. Dr Pravin Togadia is the new international working president. Shri Champat Rai of Delhi has become the international general secretary. Shri Ashok Singhal who led the VHP like a colossus for several years has been made the adviser along with Shri Vedantam.

The meeting was inaugurated on December 16. The Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt Swami Jayendra Saraswati reached the venue and blessed the delegates.

$img_titleInaugurating the meeting, Shri Ashok Singhal and Dr Pravin Togadia said the VHP is planning massive agitations against Communal Violence Bill and reservation for Muslims and Christians from the OBC/SC quota. “Six per cent reservation for Muslims from the OBC quota and reservation for Christians from SC quota is akin to snatching the begging bowl of Hindus and handing it over to Muslims/Christians. Similarly, the Communal Violence Bill is unimaginable and unconstitutional and it aimed at destroying Hindus. The Bill aims at making Hindus criminals and Muslims heroes. The Bill divides the national population as Muslims, Christians and others (which includes Hindus). What is more disgraceful than basic population of a nation being described as others?”

The three-day meeting attended by 1000 delegates from all over the globe, decided to celebrate the golden jubilee of VHP, from 2013, for three years.

Addressing a massive ‘Hindu Ekata Sammelan’ at Marine Drive Grounds on December 17, Shri Ashok Singhal said Sonia Gandhi and her coterie are plotting to usurp the rights of Hindus and push them to minority status. “Through the Communal Violence Bill, they are oppressing and dividing the Hindus. Hindus will become slaves of the minorities with the implementation of Sachar committee and Ranganath  Misra Commission recommendations”.

Dr Pravin Togadia thundered that the Communal Violence Bill would give licence for Jehadi Muslims to ethnic cleanse Hindus. “Hindus should come together, forgetting caste and fight against oppression by Muslims and Christians. If we remain fragmented, we will soon become minorities in our own land.”

Shri Kummanam Rajasekharan spoke on the threat faced by Hindus of Kerala through love  jehad, conversions, cow-slaughter and attacks by Jehadi forces. He also expressed concern at the dwindling Hindu population of Kerala.

A resolution passed by the VHP Board of Trustees asked India to be wary of Chinese moves and asked Government of India to stand up to it. VHP slammed China for border violations in Indo-Tibet, Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. It asked Government of India to reclaim territories occupied by China since 1962. It called upon Hindus to boycott chinese products.

Addressing the media at Kochi on December 19, Dr Togadia said the VHP would soon launch ‘Nation Against Terror’ movement in the wake of increasing Jehadi terror strikes. Also just like Food Security Bill and Right to Education Bill, the VHP also plans to demand a Hindu Youth Job Security Bill.
