Tribute to Vameshwar Prasad Singh?

Former Sah-Prant Karyavah of Dakshin Bihar Vameshwar Prasad Singh passed away in Jehanabad on November 19. His work in Maoists affected areas of Bihar is still remembered as he proved to be highly instrumental in changing the mindset of some of the Maoists and helping them joining the mainstream. After completing his studies from Banaras Hindu University, he joined the Bihar government service. During Emergency, he published underground literature. As Vibhag Karyavah of Gaya, he prominently worked in Maoists affected Jehanabad and Gaya and developed good contacts with the local people. He changed the mindset of some of the Maoists and many of them later sent their children to study in Saraswati Vidya Mandir schools. Presently he was State president of Pragya Pravah.
