BJP Human Rights Cell honours titans

National Human Rights Cell of BJP felicitated some people who achieved outstanding success in various fields of social life, in Meerut on October 22. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari was the chief guest.

Prominent among those who were honoured included golden girl and Indian woman wrestler Alka Tomar, Dr Mamtesh Gupta, Dr Harish Marvah, Shri Buddha Prakash Sharma on behalf of noted hockey player Vikas Sharma, social activist Arushi Rastogi, Dr Rajesh Tyagi, Dr Pankaj Sharma and Dr Anand Prakash Tyagi. National convener of BJP Human Rights Cell Shri Sudhir Agrawal and many other distinguished leaders were also present on the occasion.

Later, speaking at the function Shri Koshyari said human rights violations were increasing in the country like a virus and Uttar Pradesh tops the list of such violations. He said the incidents of Nithari, Bhatt Parsol and others are the incidents where there was gross violation of human rights. He stressed the need that people should voluntarily come forward to help those who are in need and stress.
Shri Sudhir Agrawal said the party’s Human Rights Cell visits various places of the country to fight the case of human rights violations and fight against those violations. Referring to the human rights violations, he said in many of the cases the police did not even register a FIR and the violators remain unpunished.              (FOC)
